There was some on here who said Simmo was a shit coach.

I'm not sure many people said he was a 'shit coach', but there was a wave of huge disappointment with him leaving us for Preston, of all places. I think the vitriol that was, and still is directed towards him was quite inappropriate.

There was a nice little interview with him on Sportsweek on Radio Five this morning where he stated how he was proud to come from Carlisle and he always considers it home.

He was sacked 3 times in 4 and a half seasons after leaving us... it's not arsene wenger territory is it?

Well done to him though, he can stick world cup winner on his cv now.

I think it is a great achievement... especially proud someone from Carlisle achieved it. Well done Paul Simpson.

It might be childish to not be keen on him because he left us to join Preston, but spending your afternoon getting excited about kicking a ball about, is itself puerile by any reasonable standard.
Will never understand the mentality that it's OK to criticise/dislike current manager, players and others associated with the club , but not the likes of Simmo who jumped ship.

Good win though!

He is a Carlisle boy and how many in his shoes wouldn't have done the same?

Well done, great achievment.

Simpson's 2 promotion were with a very big budget, I don't really hold him in high regard as a "Legend" nor was i disappointed when he left. Thought his style of play was poor but effective.

We had the chance to get him back after Kavanagh and 90% didn't want him back.
