TOPIC: Come on. . .Lets be having yer !!!!!

I think applications close tomorrow for the Fan on the Board thingy.

So far I have only heard of one person (Mouldy) who has applied, very glad he has but hope other folk have too, to make it more interesting and to give fans a choice.

So who's going to apply?

Off to the gym, hope to see a few names when I get back.

I know one other who has applied, or at least they were suggesting so on Twitter.

Call me cynical but shouldn't fans have the opportunity to vote for anybody who has applied for this role, without a club committee vetting them first and selecting the 4 biggest "yes men" for the vote? Maybe an excellent applicant will apply but not make the final four because he is likely to challenge the current puppet board, even though he would be excellent at representing the fans. I sort of applied with a piss take but its a complete and utter waste of time really.

A fans representative really!!!!!! A pre vetting process of 11 the majority of those in the panel work at the club.

If it was truly a fans representative, in this day and age they is no reason not to put everybody who applied to the supporter vote, to me pre selecting a shortlist takes away all creditability using the term "Fans representative"

Also you have to sign a confidentiality agreement so the fan representative wont be able to tell the fans anything.

One thing is for sure though we won't see a fan on the board if fans don't stand up and be counted. If only one or two people apply they can (with some justification) say that fans weren't really interested so lets carry on as before.

@Bumble I honestly think they would be more championing of a person from this messageboard if there wasn't a pre selection process.

We could all get behind someone and the club would get a hold of it and that person wouldn't be in the final 4.

I'm maybe being cynical but I see it all as a public perception exercise to try and show fans that things are ran transparently when in reality most know this is not the case and the confidentiality laws rule over almost everything to do with the club.

Can understand the views on this from people. It's been mentioned that the successful applicant is already selected, however, I'm giving the club the benefit of the doubt here. I'm hoping there's a good few applicants and no doubt there'll be the silent ones who want to keep it on the down low for now.

This could potentially be the best thing to happen at the club for a long, long time. Giving the fans, the most important stakeholders a voice. I think it's important to remember that not all suggestions and opinions will be able to be accommodated and some suggestions may be "overlooked", however, I think it's a good idea.

I think I'm well equipped from a "business" and a "fan" angle to offer the club a professional applicant who is more than capable of owning and excelling in the role but to also offer fans someone who will work night and day to make their voice heard and leave no stone unturned. I'm incredibly passionate about the club and football in general, but I also understand the commercial side of a business and getting a well tuned balance for business and customer.

Happy to answer any questions anyone has, in more detail, as to why I think I can do the role justice.

So currently we have Mouldy, a women on twitter and my piss take as applicants that we know of.

Anymore we know of? Don't understand anyone who would apply yet doesn't use the messageboard as one of the criteria was use of social media and they are representing the supporters.

I said before I'll vote for mouldy if in the final 4. I really do hope you get in because from your posts I feel you could offer something. It's a hiding to nothing really.

I'm led to believe there were 4 applicants as of yesterday.

We have received a good number of applications, I do not want to publicise the actual number received.



As advertised, we have the panel ready to receive all applications to consider to arrive at a shortlist of 4 applicant who will be revealed on Thursday.

Yes, I've submitted an application.

Pleased some Messageboaders have gone for it, but the revelation of their true identities could be as distressing as when the chairs turn round on The Voice. Who is flumeblue? And mouldy, with his good pitch? Is he actually Mr R O'Quefort? At least I am pretty certain Mullen will be Mullen. Bring on the shortlist!

I don't think either of the above have kept their identities secret.

DB is right, I've no issue with people knowing who I am. Have made previous comments that give a good enough hint and mentioned my full name a few times...
