Jabo had a rest against QPR so no need to rest him in this one also, would like Grainger to stay at lwb but with troy situation and my dislike of meppen walter i'd drop him back in.

Gutted can't make this one (on b4stard nights). Knowing Curle probably make about 7 changes. Don't ask me to name a team, can't remember half our squad.

Grainger at right back, I'm going to wake screaming at that one. What happened to Osei? He was coming along nicely. Grainger, Raynes and CMW. Brough and McQueen at wing backs. Dicker, Sweeney and Joyce in cm. Asamoah and Rigg at the blunt end. 3 1 to them

Predicting the starting XI for this is a bit like playing the lottery. I hope we make wholesale changes though. The next two league games look like a good chance for 6pts, so I wouldn't want to risk any tiredness / injuries from tonight.

Do hope Rigg gets a full 90 minutes though.

Full Strength Team Policy
Each club must include in its starting line-up at least six of the eleven players who started the Club fixture immediately preceding or following the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie.

Alternatively, a Club must include in its starting line-up at least six of the eleven players who have made the most starting appearances in League and domestic cup competitions during the season so far.

That reads to me as one or the other and not a mixture of the 2.

Main thing to note is that Sweeney has never scored a bicycle kick in his life (to my knowledge) yet he attempted three tonight.

Overall, I don't think we can be too bothered by being out of the JPT even if Jabo did miss the easiest header he'll ever have to equalise late on. We'll let him off, for now.

There was nothing going on up front until Jabo/Asa came on. Defence did reasonably and kept a huge amount of possession - I can only assume we were similar against QPR - although Miller was left marking two men all the time so something wasn't right there. Rigg just looked out of his depth. Balanta didn't do much to impress me either. Hanford was ok, did what he had to but think he made a few bad decisions on where he was passing out to. Obviously this is under Curle's instruction and I think he'd be more comfortable hoofing it but when he did it went out for a throw in.

Take tonight as the learning curve it was intended to be and focus on the league and knocking Liverpool out of the cup.

Edited to add: Hery is class. Only one offering anything in the first half. Must've been frustrating for him playing the balls to attack only to see play back behind him again 20 seconds later.

I wasn't there but going by what was said on the radio Rigg made numerous runs and no-one played the pass for them.

Even Holt commented on that he made good runs only to be ignored
