I wonder if we'll get any of our targets signed today. Permanent or loan.

Hopefully at least one is a defender.

Miller looks a real find.

Raynes has done ok up to now.

Atkinson was our best player pre-season

Grainger may have his moments but look how many he has set up for Jabo.

Mqueen looks a decent signing.

Brough can only improve.

TAH, we all know his situation.

CMW, and his.

Leacock?

How many more defenders do we need?

I've deleted the full backs - this leaves us with 4 contracted centre backs, one of whom is CMW who probably won't play again, and another is Troy who can only play Saturday games. We therefore only have 2 centre backs for mid-week games and this when we play a 3-5-2 formation, so I'd say another centre back wouldn't go amiss.

The good thing as I see it is as long as the listed players earn their chance, Curle does seem to give them it.

Sweeney last season, Dicker this. So very much up to CMW to force KC's hand.

With TAH, I don't think KC dislikes him as a player or person. I just think he's wanting a relatively settled defence where any changes made are his decision, not enforced by injury.

I would like to see who the targets are - I think it's fair to guess that Leacock, when fit will get himself a short term deal. This could be his level?

I'm not expecting too much in the way of action today, but wouldn't be surprised by any that did come.

We've got a decent sized squad as is and going forward we seem to be doing well. The leaky defence does need work - but I don't know what the answer is, all the people we use there seem to fall foul of the defensive woe!!

Doubtful (and hoping not at the same time!) that we'll see any leaving.

We have conceded 12 goals in 5 league games, 2 more than any other team, and the defence is ok?? Either the players are crap or the system is crap, but the defence is not ok

However many it takes until we don't have the worst defence in League 2.

The tippy tappy football at the back has been the problem and not the defence per se.

Not CUFC related, but...

What an absolute f*** up this De Gea/Navas thing has been.

What a situation both players now find themselves in for the next few months. De Gea at a club where he clearly doesn't want to be. Will he play for them again? And Navas at a club where he's clearly not wanted.

Quite incredible that 2 huge clubs can make such an amateur balls up like this.

Off the top of my head Kennedy gave a stupid penalty away and Joyce had an unlucky slip

You cannot blame defenders for these type of things its not so simple as saying we need more defenders

I personally think at times we look are miles better outfit keeping and using the ball much better should improve further as team gels going forward

I heard this on the radio this morning crunch, it really does seem ridiculous doesn't it. Isn't De Gea a free agent next year? I don't think they'll even get any sort of fee for him now, and he'll certainly be gone next season, but will the manager play him now? It would seem to me that considering all the speculation about the move for the last 3 or 4 months that they'd have got their act together and made sure simple things like this could have been sorted on time. This could have cost Man United millions, and somebody needs their backside booted.

These sort of things do not happen by chance - someone is playing games.

I understand they are planning to appeal the decision. Is that likely to make any difference?

Do you think it was a mistake ?

I would say Real Madrid were making sure De Gea never left Utd for another club in this window and then will snap him up in January for half the amount if any fee at all.

Who in their right mind would pay 29m for a keeper they can sign for free at xmas and join in the summer properly.

Apparently transfer talks are ''on going'' with us..

Won't be at all surprised if nothing has happened before 6PM.

I will never understand why it has to go down to the wire instead of tying deals up in good time.

The amount of money being spent makes me feel a bit sick to be honest

The way Man City in particular are spending is ridiculous.

£55 million for Kevin De Bruyne and £57 million in wages over six years for a an average player who was surplus to requirements at Chelsea only 18 months ago. That would pay Carlisle's wage bill for the next 50 years! And this not long after they've probably done a similar deal for Raheem Sterling.

And now Bournemouth  are paying £5 million pounds for Glenn Murray.

The world's gone mad I tell you.

What's the chances of someone having signed and it only being announced when he's named in the team tonight?!

Sounds like something KC would do?
