As we are now allowing representatives of Virgin trains to decide who sits on the board will we have a say who sits on virgins board?

I am a little confused Mullen, I was one of 11 respresentives of sponsors and media etc to vote (separately). Anyhow it is the fans decide not me or you although we both have a vote as a Fan.

No it's not up to the fans actually mate - this has been my point. It's like an election in the old Soviet Union where you get to vote for some carefully vetted candidates - unlike a real election where everybody can stand....

But everyone could of put a application in?

This is genuinely concerning that you don't seem to know how the voting process in this country works.....now, I'm sure that you will say that the main parties have their lists; however people who don't agree with that can stand as independents (and often do at local level) - you might also want to cast your eyes across the pond, even in their monumentally awful system this happens a fair bit.

ergo: anyone who ponies up their deposit can stand and people have the option of voting for them or not - that was denied in this case. Btw - I have no problem with the you/Claire, the interest was declared and that is fine...it's the fact that people at the club (SK/PK and the people who pull their strings) got to veto any of the candidates; not to mention the lack of secret ballot and the fact that no independent body are counting the votes.....

Honestly - you'd be sent back to the drawing board in Uzbekistan if you came up with this as an electoral process (example chosen quite deliberately)

Well, I can understand what he's saying. It just looks wrong doesn't it. I'm quite certain there was nothing done wrong and nobody got an unfair advantage. But seriously, should somebody related to a candidate be allowed to be on a selection panel? To make it look fair, I think not.

As I say, I don't doubt the result, just the process is very clearly flawed.

Mate the entire process is a case-study in how NOT to run an election - I am serious in that I think I may use it as an example to my pupils in a couple of weeks time, as to why we have laws governing elections...

Oh, I agree, and Mullen makes the very valid point that all 11 should have been allowed to stand. I agree with you about both the counting and the fact that you have no secret ballot.

Im a bit dissapointed as i voted for her on the strength of her application only to find she is connected to one of the panel if id known this before i would probably have changed my mind .

It a bit like a defendant being connected to someone on a jury .

Agree 100%

A little disappointed in Mouldys response as with any discussion they go off in tangents and other things, in all jobs I have this is what's gone on.

Little worried as if there's a boardroom discussion on the topic of the price of beer and the billionaire gets mentioned and discussions go towards that, will you refuse to take part as it's off topic?

Maybe a lot of the above posts are symptomatic of what is cocked up off the field, but isn't bickering like this just bringing the forum/fans down to the same level? Sounds like a conversation in a bloody junior school play ground.

What a load of bollocks this thread has turned in to. It's about Steve Patt being a complete mong and letting on that a certain person was behind the billionaire farce all a long. That is far bigger than a daft election of someone who will make f*ck all difference.

This is exactly what the board want, daft little gestures like this election to detract from the real issue which is what this thread was originally about.

So what are people going to do with this SP/Agar info then or is it business as usual.

Any protests? Or are we going to go with the flow and whatever bull SP comes out with.

If it wasn't Agar, it is, he would of said it wasn't him therefore the N&S; now have proof to run a story.

To be honest guys, it's not the off topic part that bothers me, I'm a nightmare for going off topic on here...it's more the poor internet and signal in Greece and wanting to see if SP has said anything else!! Certainly not implying that anything is derogatory Melbourne, and I actually think the best way to get good input or opinions is to challenge others. Which is what is being done here - very fairly from a few parties. I'm just not entirely sure that this thread is the right place - perhaps starting another or having it on the vote count thread would have been more logical for me. But each to their own gents and ladies.

Of course things go off on a tangent. Mullen, I think you're slightly over exaggerating with that example though mate - be a pretty tenuous link for that to come about! But, to answer your question, no, I wouldn't refuse to take part, but I do also doubt that the fans rep will be involved in any direct conversation regards the billionaire. Unless of course it's the fans rep saying "give us a little bit of info" etc.

Whilst on that point Mullen; perhaps the situation of the disengagement from club to fans is because such tangents are taking place in the board room? If the fans are mentioned and someone shuns it and starts talking about the price of oil... A board room is a place where critical business decisions are made, which requires actual on topic, productive conversation. I certainly wouldn't expect PK + SK to start talking about an off topic item if I was trying to put forward the fans' views.

But, I do enjoy a pack of XL Cheese.

Brilliant. An important issue completely derailed so a contest of egos can happen. Ironically it's a contest of egos that destroyed the Lapping deal and led to this farcical situation in the first place.

Id be quite disappointed if there isn't some kind of proper news story from the N&S; out of this. Theirs clearly more going on than meets the eye, that much is obvious to anyone on here, but it needs airing to a wider audience. Steve Pats bumbling ways have meant the facade has slipped a bit and i think the local media needs to bite the bullet and run with what they have.

Yes of course, what im saying is that i think Jon Colman and others within the local media know more about the current situation than they are reporting. Could be wrong, ive no mullen-esque 'insider info'. Thats just the impression i get. I can understand why they may have held off publishing but its now becoming ever more clear that the whole thing is a charade. Sometimes you need Journalists/media to be brave and publish what they know to be true before it becomes the 'official' line.

I doubt it- especially at the moment; it would be open season and the spotlight would get shined a lot more than it is at the moment. I suspect Comical has told them this - whether they have listened of course is more debatable.....

MAKE OF THAT WHAT YOU WILL!

Funny thing is I actually returned from town with an IPhone charger today. Mmmm

News⋆ and Jon Colman would probably get banned from BP (it's happened before under previous regimes) if they ran such a story especially if any of the facts were unsubstantiated.

I doubt it- especially at the moment; it would be open season and the spotlight would get shined a lot more than it is at the moment. I suspect Comical has told them this - whether they have listened of course is more debatable.....

I know it sounds insane, but I honestly don't think they care what anybody thinks about anything they do. If they did this wouldn't have happened today, the billionaire stuff wouldn't be still rumbling on and the Blue Yonder stuff would be sorted.

They have no respect for us, for the media or for the club, in fact all they have for us is contempt. Pattison is proving that yet again. Otherwise this latest debacle would have been addressed, or at least acknowledged.

All the N&S; need to publish is the tweet from SP and the added speculation that it could be Agar and leave it as that for now.

The statement about Agar not being involved with the billionaire summed up that the N&S; know more because it was correct that Agar isn't involved with the billionaire as they isn't one. It didn't answer the question whether Agar set it up.

Doubt the news and star will run with it as it proves nothing other than stevie boy gets texts from a man named keith who thinks colman prints shit. Even if it can be proved to be agar it doesnt tell us anything. As funny as this is the only story is cufc director in social media balls up

The story is on the N&S; website this morning. More embarrassment for the club, brought on by the very people who should be there to make the club prosper. Nice work SP. :cheer:

Whichever way you look at this, if it's serious, a wind up, a genuine conspiracy or a bunch of pranksters, it stinks.

I find it depressing and off-putting and despite a recent re-invigorated performance on the pitch, another set-back.

It is clear the ' Custodians over Failure ' ain't going quietly.................

I'm not even sure what the 2 things have to do with anything anyways?

They are clearly texts that he's received - I don't think him having 3 pints of John Smiths in Benidorm has any bearing on that situation whatsoever.

An expertly written article by Jon Colman (with Mullen's help). It lays out the facts, puts them in context and has SP's 'explanation'. Just shows how lucky we are to have someone of JC's quality following the Blues.
