What a surprise.

The only one that wouldn't oppose the ownership.

Only one that had an endorsement.

Only one with a family member on the panel.

Utter joke!!!!!!

Congratulations Claire!! Fantastic news. I'm sure whichever of the 4 got the gig, they'd do an equally good a job. Glad it's you tho, to piss these sad acts off.

Best of luck!

Well Claire, take a look at the flag thread where 1 person is threatened with ejection from the ground for daring to criticise the custodians....your fellow board members....

thoughts would be welcome - but not holding my breath...

Well you were right again Mullen. It's a strange election where so many people seemed to know the result before any votes were counted...

Or cast.

do you think they will publish the votes with the names of people who actually voted so we know it wasn't a fix or is that too transparent.

I think in fairness to Claire she never said she wouldn't ask the questions, just she wouldn't go in all guns blazing.

As everyone knows I have grave misgivings about the role, and as has been pointed out the system of holding the election was worse than in the old Soviet Union. But I understand Claire polled about a third of the votes, that is a decent backing, and I congratulate her on her win.

Well done too to the other 3 on their dignified campaign. Now let's hope, against hope that something happens.

More than anything else I think some people are being very ill-mannered towards Claire to suggest she won via a fix.

Sadly, that doesn't surprise me. Best of luck to her.

I think the strength of feeling towards the current owners who ever won would have been classed as a fix by a lot on here.

The mess as I see it is the lack of trust between the custodians and the fans, the fact that they don't seem aware of the feelings of the fans which is likely to become more negative towards them when the final billionaire debacle info comes out. I don't expect her to solve this (or to be honest even to be listened to) but at least the club won't be able to say they haven't heard the message...

To be fair, I expect PK and SK to listen at operational level, at the end of the day, it's them two who are accountable for the day to day running of the club now, and if the crowds drop, the disengagement continues etc, ultimately its they who suffer the rollicking. If they don't listen, serious questions should be asked as to why they've even gone through with the position.

I obviously think there's scope for it or I wouldn't have applied.

I've said previously the 1 financial year term is very restrictive and limits the achievement before starting. However; it does give a get out of jail card to both parties if not working.

My issue with her is that seemingly doesn't even intend to try - which is ridiculous from a fans' rep but there we are.......

On an immediate note - how Claire chooses to do with the issue re the flag will be instructive - I expect that Claire will do nothing; let's see if I'm proved wrong....

Congratulations Claire.

Don't think some of the bitterness on here is necessary at all. Things like this will only work if fans are united, unfortunately that doesn't seem like a thing Carlisle fans like to do.

I wonder if there would have benefits the same accusations if anyone else had won, though it is notable that it's Mullen throwing the accusations about.

I think it would be great if all four of the candidates could work together and support each other. However successful one candidate is in the year, I think it would probably be healthier to limit it to one year only and the three other candidates this year can work with Claire then they would be even more effective should one of them stand and get it next year.

Claire has two considerable challenges to contend with, firstly relations with the club, secondly, and potentially more damaging is supporter divisions. I think getting supporters singing from the same song sheet will prove too much, there are too many individuals provoking supporter disharmony. Good luck to her.

and as has been pointed out the system of holding the election was worse than in the old Soviet Union.
Moorlad I usually I appreciate your posts but what absolute Shxx

Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 19 January 1947,[1] the first since World War II. According to the official results, the Democratic Bloc (Blok Demokratyczny), dominated by the communist Polish Workers Party (PPR) and also including the Polish Socialist Party (PPS), People's Party (SL), Democratic Party (SD) and non-partisan candidates, gained 80.1% of the vote and 394 of the 444 seats in the Legislative Sejm. The largest opposition party, the Polish People's Party, was officially credited with 28 seats. However, the elections were won using intimidation and violence; all non-communist and/or anti-communist opposition candidates and activists were persecuted by the Volunteer Reserve Militia (ORMO) with almost 100,000 functionaries armed with guns, deployed across the country in order to ensure a communist victory. The results were falsified on a massive scale. According to one of the Soviet officials who helped orchestrate the fraud, the Democratic Bloc had actually won about 50% of the votes at most.[3][4] In turn, the opposition claimed that it would have won a decisive victory had the election been conducted fairly.

Whereas we had people who weren't even allowed on the ballot. The rulers chose the candidates.

However, done is done. Now we have representation, so we should back Claire, offer her support and suggestions and work with her to try to make the position worthwhile.

ps I know why I wasn't selected I don't know the difference between looser and loser and for and four.

But I do know that I want the fans to contribute.
By all means be critical but be constructive.

Because I get proved right time and time again.

I knew Claire Wouod win and it was a total and utter stitch up. The one the board wanted.

No the other 3 were fine no issues I voted for one if them.

So just because you didn't vote for her and she got in, it's a stitch up? Have you ever considered that there were plenty of people out there who felt she was the best candidate and voted for her? Didn't vote for Claire myself but I'm sure she'll do a good job.

I have no axe to grind with any of the candidates and I have seen no evidence to suggest that any candidate was unsuitable. Surely a voice at the top table can only a good thing so let's get behind the winner. So well done Claire now let's see you live up to the fans expectations.
