Oh dear. My brother helps run that team - they'll be kicked out the league I suspect. Not the first time they've had bother like this.

Just looking on their site and thought that lad must be a relation to you.

He puts a hell of a lot of time and effort in, particularly helping/running the youth teams. I hope it doesn't affect the whole club.

I hope he isn't teaching it from a young age ;)

Would be a shame for them to be turfed out the league, surely just a disciplinary review for the player in question would suffice.

Unisun response is that the person involved is nothing to do with the club.

Nobby, fully agree
Part of the team that got me and my mates back into Carlisle.
Oganhi, Watson, Saddleworth, even Goldsmith (joking with last one)

Was talking to a couple of lads who play/played in the Westmorland league. First thing they both said was "cheating Kendal tw&ts; probably deserved it."

I know this is no excuse and it may have happened for different reasons but probably not!

The linesman was supplied by Kendal Utd as the home team. It was suggested he may have said something to George Oghani.

With all the stuff going on in the world right now though, I am surprised this was on the front page of the N&S; though.

Agreed. Not sure its front page news!
Would I be right in saying that Carlisle based teams, not just Unisun are not well liked in the Westmorland Legaue for whatever reason?

Yeah, it's not the first run in Unisun have had with other teams from the Westmorland League. It's not just them either, seems to be other Carlisle teams with similar probs.

They shouldn't (nor any Carlisle teams) be in the Westmorland League, maybe that's why they're not liked.

I have never understood why Carlisle based teams play in the Westmorland League, although having played against Unisun a few times I can think of a few other reasons why they're not liked.

They play in the Westmorland league because it's sh*te! I play against them regularly in the Carlisle City Sunday League and they barely win or even draw whereas they p*ss the Westmorland league!

The Carlisle and District League dissolved in 2002. And the West Cumberland League then became the Cumberland County League to incorporate the Carlisle and District teams such as: Carlisle City and Harraby Catholic Reserves, Longtown, Wigton, Silloth, Hearts of Liddlesdale, Cannobie, Longtown and possibly some others. Six of those teams are still in it. I think there is 3 (could be wrong) teams from Carlisle in the Westmorland League. Why they choose them I don't know. But it's probably just as easy to travel to teams in Kendal etc using the m6.

There's 4 that I know of from Carlisle in the Westmorland League.Unisun,Pirelli,Eden Thistle and AFC Carlisle.
Never played in that league myself so couldnt comment on the standard of it.
