TOPIC: The love has gone

Have not been this season as sickened and disgusted with our ownership. However, got dragged along yesterday by a family member. After seeing Pattison laughing and joking with punters in the car park as ever like nothing has happened, I took my seat in the C stand.

I sat quietly through the game and realised that after 25 years of passionate support for the blues, our old boys club and their antics have totally destroyed the love I have for this club. I really felt that I didn't care about the outcome of the match.

My feelings were further compounded by not a single voice of discontent shouted towards the directors box - people are obviously happy enough despite what is posted on this messageboard .

On arriving home, I had a kickabout in the garden with my little boy, which provided me with far more enjoyment than the afternoon I had had at Brunton Park.

The love has gone. I doubt I will be back for a long time.

Why do you have to wait for other people to start voicing their concerns? if your that pissed off then you had an ideal opportunity to do it, especially considering you were in 'C' Stand,

"Come on Nixon, tell the truth" were the words I shouted to his face from the top of the steps as I left the ground. He looked slightly startled!

Why not have a rendition of 'lying eyes' by the Eagles before the match on Satda. Would be great to see everyone pointing at him and singing.
Then get on with supporting the lads for 3 more points.

I believe there was an exchange between Pattison and a fan on the car park before the match and then one at full time between two in the paddock and that arrogant prick in the director's box...

I posted how fed up I was on Friday, fortunately for me I had work on Saturday so I had to get motivated and get down to Brunton Park.

Now I fully understand that Carlisle United sometimes has to take a back seat, other things in our lives are more important and we have to let the football go for a while, sometimes our circumstances change to the point where we leave football for ever. For me though, however frustrated I get with the club, however much I moan and whinge I am not ready to leave and put Carlisle United behind me, too much history, too many friends gained, too much happiness gained through the years to walk away.

So when I saw Steve Patt in the carpark I went over and told him how disappointed I was, listened to what he had to say and felt the better for doing so. I honestly don't see the point of not talking to people However bitter the war it always has to end in dialogue and by not voicing our thoughts as fans and walking quietly away surely we are allowing ourselves to be the mushrooms we despise.

We should open a book on what SP said: even money fav is : my phone was taken by aliens.....

followed by the hacking/stolen bs that he came up with on Fri.

The fact that odious slime is even in the car-park is symptomatic of the problems around CUFC at the moment.

I didn't take notes or say I would be reporting back to the message board so it would be wrong to repeat the conversation. The reason I posted was simply that he was there and available. so rather than post on a message board anyone could put their point direct.

As much as a daft plank he is, he still goes in the Car Park and is approachable, can't fault him for that...

I spoke to Steve Pat in the car park before the game. I didn't know how to introduce myself, or whatever, so I just went straight in with "Who's Keith, Steve?"
He replied "I don't know anybody called Keith."
I said "Not even Keith Curle, our first team manager?"
He said "I know Keith Curle."
I asked him who the Keith was that he was texting, and had the text leaked on twitter.
He told me he had no idea what I was talking about, and that I didn't know what I was talking about either.
I said "You told Jon that if he spoke to you today, then you would tell him all he wants to know. Will you be able to tell me?"
He said "Who's Jon?"
"Jon Colman" I replied
"I don't know who Jon Colman is" **Cue him and his mates sniggering**
"You spoke to him on twitter the other day."
"When was the other day?" **more sniggering**
"Oh I don't know. Wednesday? Thursday?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I haven't spoken to Jon Colman in months."

He was just pretending to be an idiot over the whole thing (in fairness, he doesn't have to pretend)

But he is there, before every game, as others have said. And he was quite clearly rattled by someone having the audacity to step up and ask him questions he didn't want to answer. Now, sitting on our hands, waiting for the next press statement that doesn't actually say anything, clearly isn't working. It is time more people stood up and made them feel uncomfortable. I am in no way condoning violence, or intimidation, or anything like that, but we, as fans, are sick of being treated like idiots, and like I say, sitting on our hands is not doing anything. Don't wait for "somebody else" to step up and ask questions, YOU ARE SOMEBODY ELSE.

Whether you believe that action like this is more suited to during the game, before the game, or after the game, is neither here nor there, and we could debate that till the cows go home. If you think the time and the place for action is before the game, then do something before the game. If you think the time and the place is after the game, do something after the game. If you think the time and the place is during the game, hell, do something during the game. But don't just sit on your hands and do nothing.

Well if you stop posting it will be one less dull poster for the rest of us to read, like previously mentioned who joins a message board with that name in the first place, hardly bodes well for a poster without an agenda.

You can still read with out an account so that won't save you being pulled back to read the boring drivel.

Well done Mike on asking him the questions, I always think if you have an issue with someone then if you do it in the right way people know where you stand.

It's just a pity that he answered with just utter contempt with the sniggering, was he trying to make you look a fool?

I happened to enjoy yesterday, yes we rode our luck and probably didn't deserve 3 points but i was over the moon we got them. If that makes me a happy clapper then i'm fine with that.
If you didn't enjoy yesterday my only advice is don't go back.

I returned yesterday but as the 1st poster said...i feel less love too and that was down to the regime and their antics. I should have ranted full throttle but i wouldve got scopped out and im not going down that route. My better side got the better of me yesterday. I stood quiet all game but was glad to be out of Brunton Park at the end...

I've commitments to take people to Dagenham game and Liverpool but that's it for me. I can't go to a game where I don't get excited when we score and have so much anger at the regime.

I'll be taking my protest flag on Saturday so if I get banned I get banned. Maybe will be a good thing

I just like going to Brunton Park with my pal's.

I guess if we were bottom of the league they'd be taking a load of flack. However, we'll be in the playoff places when we win next Saturday and are the top scorers in the league which is why they are getting an easy ride.

Well, you may be right, but I really don't think so. I think one of the main problems is that we have no organisation as a collective. There are so many things going on that we have a load of factions within the fans who disagree with the owners over so many things, be it Blue Yonder, Lapping, the billionaire, the fan representative or the vote. Nothing is coordinated, and as a result the opposition is splintered and unfocused. Coupled with that there are quite a large number of fans, I've spoken to loads, who either don't care, or don't think anything is wrong at all.

So, what do we do? Well first of all we'd have to decide what the most important issue we've got is, possibly by everyone with a complaint forwarding their most important issue to Claire, she can coordinate them and come up with the most popular problem, or problems. Then we can all start to use Claire as the focal point to arrange stuff with the custodians, whether it is meetings, or whether it is conference calls, or just some sort of protest outside the ground at a game, or whatever. It has to be some sort of combined effort, the odd fan doing what Mike did on Saturday, or what Mullen did on Sunday will not work.

You really believe the football has been great??? Exciting... yes. End-to-end.... yes. But Great? not in my view. The football has been littered with crazy play and massive errors defensively. We have been excellent going forward BUT that is only half the game. It is certainly a lot better to watch than last year but some of the football played has been very amatuerish, technically and tactically.
