“We’ve been speaking to a Championship player – a very exciting player – and another League One player.

That lad we had on trial from Huddersfield still not gone anywhere?

I hope one of them is Ched Evans.

Read today that Ched Evans will find out shortly if he can appeal his conviction, in my unqualified opinion he was very stupid but having looked at publically available evidence I don't think he is guilty of what he was charged with. If he does overturn his conviction I'd imagine he will go to a top league one club / championship club

Has he not appealed it several times already?

The lad who was on trial has just come on at HT for Huddersfield. Dempsey, still on the bench...

Chesterviabothel -

Yes I believe he has, While he was in jail in 2012 the judge refused and also refused to cut his sentence.

Apparently they have submitted fresh evidence which includes evidence the prosecution did not share during his trial which they say could have cleared him. This appeal is to overturn his conviction I think.

One step closer to clearing his name, hopefully.

Not sure if that means he is very likely to be cleared or not, must be some stats for it.

I think there's more chance of the possibility of him clearing his name, than if it hadn't been referred to the CoA.

Could the League one player possibly be Grant Holt as Mr. Curle did express an interest in him recently... (or did I just imagine it? )

I may be wrong but I think the other player who was charged with him but got found not guilty was not allowed to testify in defence, but at his appeal he will be allowed to
