How could you get the vaccine with a name like no vak.

If there's one thing Aussies know about tennis, it's how to return a Serb.

Nothing to say the vaccine doesn’t stop transmission, agree they flu vaccine doesn’t either.

You don’t need to take the flu vax to enter a tennis tournament you do with the covid one.

But not when playing footy in the UK, hence why most of the games are being postponed !

I may have misinterpreted your words "this vaccine doesn’t stop transmission"

The issue is though silent - this vaccine doesn’t stop transmission.

When you have someone like ND, a fit person thinking he simply doesn’t want it, the implications are for him only and if he gets Ill he can likely pay to go private.

Neither does the flu vaccine in some cases. We've been over this time after time, yet you have entrenched your view, so my last post on it.

"Depending on the estimates used for vaccine effectiveness against symptomatic infection from the Delta variant, this translates into vaccine effectiveness estimates against symptomatic Omicron infection of between 0% and 20% after two doses, and between 55% and 80% after a booster dose. Similar estimates were obtained using genotype data, albeit with greater uncertainty."

On a positive note Raducanu is through the first round.

Mullen your missing the biggest key difference with your comparison.

The people in Nazi Germany did not choose to be Jewish , they were target because of they came from a Jewish families, even if they did not practices Jewish faith anymore.

Apartheid people did not not choose to be black.

You are comparing decision were people knew the consequence against things people have no control over.

Thank you HB

Correct those were examples where they was little or no choice. Although the nazis allowed Jews to turn their families in but no you’re right.

You make no secret of your sexuality HB. Thankfully we’ve moved on but what would happen if you were subjected to an attack because of that plus homophobic abuse and all you got was tough/sorry your choice to be like that, change your choice to fit in with society or accept these consequences for your actions.

You wouldn’t like it HB and you’d feel discriminated against as you did when NS posted his things - rightly so.

Sorry to use you as an example HB but you did reply. Discriminating against someone because they won’t take a medical treatment sets a very bad precedent imo. Yes it’s a choice like religion and sexuality but you can’t discriminate on those grounds.

It’s ok saying these are the rules. Apartheid was a rule in South Africa didn’t mean it was right.

What did I mean when I said it’s just the start? - well discrimination is starting again In other areas.

Mullen sexuality is not a choice, I can honestly say If I had the choice I wouldn't be gay .

I agree HB and its a shame to feel like that.

But sadly in society still a lot think sexuality is a choice. You've proved my point slightly that you don't like something more than likely the way society treats us.

Back to ND, he says he has first hand experience of seeing vaccine injuries. He doesn't want the vaccine but has to conform to the majority just to play a tennis tournament. IMO putting something into your body should never be a reason to discriminate.

The vaccine doesn't stop you spreading it or getting it, if it did maybe mindsets would be different. Could testing have been an alternative?

The reality is different, the vaccine considerably reduces the chances of you both getting or spreading the virus, and if the worst happens and you end up in Hospital it reduces the time you are there for treatment and likely-hood of dying.

Just like every other treatment provided by the NHS !!!

Every year, millions of people voluntarily have a flu vaccine, many choose not to, therefore the result is, lots of people die as the virus spreads amongst the unvaccinated, and a few that are vaccinated.

If everyone got vaccinated against flu, very few would die, but that is the outcome of freedom of choice.

Your'e getting silly now.
ND nor any other anti vaxxer I am aware of have been dragged off to concentration camps and gassed.
But hey, you may know different.

ND was detained, not in a concentration camp no.

This is how it starts, segregate society, this time by a medical treatment and don’t let them participate in society.

And that’s fine?

What would happen, in say 4 years time, they found an issue with the vaccine and countries decided to stop admitting people who have had it?

It’s hypothetical, but we never thought we’d see these discriminatory issues.

Rules are good, if they don’t impact you but if that situation occurred would you just suck it up and say tough luck. If you were born black for instance in apartheid times do you just say unlucky.

Djokovic is an arrogant sod, you’ve sort or got to be to be as successful as him and has done things wrong. But looking at the bigger picture he will probably be seen in good light, in a few years time and how ridiculous this whole thing was.

Your drivel knows no bounds.

What the hell has apartheid got to do with a covid vaccine ?

When not use the analogy of drinking and driving ? It's perfectly OK as long as you don't injure or kill anybody, isn't it ?

Discrimination!

Same as discriminating against the Jews who were thought of as unclean by the nazis. Those that aren’t jabbed are seen as unclean and a health risk and can’t play in a tennis tournament.

It’s seen as ok as it’s for health reasons. History has taught us that any sort of discrimination is wrong including apartheid.

Discriminating someone for being unclean as they won’t get jabbed with something is wrong!

It was very “convenient” catching covid in December wasn’t it? What was his supposed exemption going to be based on if he hadn’t “caught” that?
And why was he allowed to have appeals within a couple of days when others wait for months? He was treated exceptionally well considering he knew the rules and couldn’t follow them.

I've zero sympathy.

He is an idiot.

He went ahead with PR events knowing fine well he was Covid positive.

And he was fine as were the people he met.

He may be an idiot, but you don’t become the best ever tennis player being an idiot.

Look at the bigger picture in all of this. Discrimination is allowed again.

Like all top sportsmen, it's all about the brand, and he has done untold damage to his.

What about the position his sponsors are now in ? What pressure will they come under now, supporting a person who ignores all the rules and restrictions ?

When the Aussies first tried to kick him out, he should have apologised about an 'oversight' and jumped on the next plane out of there, just like the four others did.

But, no, not him, fight on,, try and embarrass the Aussie Government, try and blame old uncle John Cobly an'all and still get his marching orders.

He will have very deep regrets I'm sure.

If you watch the Australian Border force programmes the biggest surprise to me is that he was actually allowed to set foot outside the airport.
They come down very hard on anyone trying to enter without the correct documentation. Usually instant deportation.

He got what he deserved.
Everyone knew the rules months ago and he decided to be the big I am and chance his arm - the arm that should have had a needle or two in it.
He had a choice about having the vaccine or not, just as it was Australia's choice to not let him in. The only mistake was allowing him in in the first place.
And don't start this 'bigger picture' bollocks.

You do all realise that ND would’ve had to declare his vaccination status as part of the Visa process? Hardly ‘keeping it secret’!

Just because he doesn’t broadcast it doesn’t mean he misses it out on this sort of stuff, indeed I’m sure this was established during the first hearing?

Its like me going to work in a care setting without telling anyone my status if i am vaccinated or not to give support...its the way it is in this pandemic

It be very foolish indeed..if i was caught..i certainly wouldnt have a job...simple fact i didnt comply with the rules set put in the 1st place.

Novak and his arrogance to it all has come back to bite him...as i said he needs to think and take responsibility himself.

Well done Aussies for not bowing down.
