Thats a 40% increase in total cases in a day.

At the back of my mind I used to scoff at the suggestion that scientists were scared at the notion that bringing back something from outer space could unleash a deadly virus that could wipe out the entire planet.
Not saying that this is anything like that but what has amazed me is the reality of how quickly this could happen and that there is nothing we can do about it.
Plus it still isn't much comfort from comparing x amount of people dieing from this or that in the same time scale especially as very few had heard of Coronavirus until this year.
I went to bed concerned about Coronavirus and woke up to a particularly nasty letter from the hospital telling me that during recent tests for something else they have found something else seriously wrong for me to have to worry about - I am at the conclusion that everything is in a race to kill us all whilst we just sit back and wait for the winner.

As for no deaths in the last 24 hours - the data released at 2pm is only up till 9am today.

Just been an American guy on Ch 4 news who's been working on viruses for 20 years he said we haven't seen anything like this since the Spanish Flu of 1918....it worries him the infectioness of it, this CV. The Government have invested £20m in working on an anti-viral but it won't be ready till the autumn.
I can probably understand the widespread rate of infection in China and Iran possibly..countries who keep stuff under raps..but Italy is a queer one and they still haven't found the first carrier.

Just been reading another doom mongering piece then on express.co.uk by Paul Baldwin. He basically says the chances that a bat that ate a virus ridden snake, that was then made into bat soup in a Wuhan Fish market, that then mutated across the species just as it was being served to that little Chinese guy for his dinner.....er is very unlikely x a million.....when coincidentally The Wuhan Institute of virology is a 5 minute walk from the fish market.
This when other viruses like SARS Mers Bird Flu etc also originated in ...er China.

Its flights from Italy you need to worry about. China have banned flights coming in from Italy.

So if we're in the containment phase people off incoming flights need tested at the airports and told to self isolate till the results are back, if your a UK resident. If not forced isolation should happen or return to Italy asap
