Better things? Livingston?

I was just being sarcastic - I thought that Crunch would have beaten you to it Nobby :)

Come to think of it - I wouldn't say that playing for Livingston was going onto better things even if they had just won their domestic treble.

Curley Keith apparently in talks to bring Luke Joyce to Oldham Athletic. Looks like he's trying to get the 'old gang' back together.

You know what you are going to get with Luke Joyce and he wont break the bank.

He seems a good lad to have around the dressing room as well - you could do worse, and lets not forget he was part of that amazing run that Port Vale went on last season.

In his twilight now though munch, as Vale fans will tell you. Been a solid player for us over the years but I’d not take him back now.

I see what you are saying, like mentioned on another thread - he wouldn't be the worst signing in the world but would be a little underwhelming at the same time.

Hope that he gets himself sorted with a club though.

Think he’s got another season at league 2 level, just can’t see him playing a major role in a promotion push. He’s a proper professional, and he deserves a contract somewhere. Oldham could be a good fit for him.

He’ll be ok here then!

Another good servant to our club - I liked Ellis, banging in goals for fun at County, are they playing him up front or something?

A bit of a tenuous link but this will make you feel old. . .

Just wondered what happened to Courtney Meppen-Walter, last I heard of him he was in bother again for another driving offence.

Googled him and he is signed to Telford - is CMW really only 26! Seems like an age since he was here.

Don't think Bridge and Webster are joining the "I got released by Chris Beech and promoted with my new club" gang (Bridge playing, Webster on bench)

Bromley 3-0 down at half-time to Hartlepool, defence shocking apparently

edit: oh hang on, pulled it back to 3-1 early in the second half...

Webster scored in the last minute, but only brought it back to 3-2 :-(

Don't think it was Beech who released him but Ellis is still flying the flag for ex-players.

I was just thinking, if he goes up with Notts County will it be a record as he must have around four promotions to the football League under his belt - or will these not count as most of these he was a loan player and also possibly didn't play in enough games?

Either way - he is a lucky charm and a club like Chesterfield should be looking at him with his record.

By that reasoning we couldn’t thank Jimmy Glass for keeping us up?!

We could thank him yes but nobody got a medal that year although he deserved one :)

No sure how things like that count now as they give players medals years after the event these days I am sure that I read somewhere and you used to have to play in so many games to get a medal in the past, again I think that this has changed as well.

Ellis will have played in far fewer games than most in these promotions as he was usually brought in late.

I think he only played a couple of games for us, can't say I remember him. Would he be a similar level to Armer when he played for us, can anyone remember?

Seems to have a had a good career in fairness and that is some deal he's picked up!
