Looking forward to this!

England strong favs, can we win the thing?

Batting is as strong as possible with Roy, Bairstow, Root, Morgan, Buttler and Stokes, lower order can hit it too.

Bowling looks better with the inclusion of Archer. Him and Wood are genuine pace, add to the spin of Rashid and Ali, and the other pace bowlers and we’ve got options.

India and Australia are the obvious rivals, New Zealand and West Indies best of the rest for me. South Africa and Pakistan seem to be going through the motions at the moment.

Going to be a cracking few weeks...

Yes, England are strong favourites, they look to have a very strong line up, playing well and in the home conditions.
If things go according to plan and they win the group stage they should avoid India and Australia in the semis
It's a good format now for lots of cracking matches , but the only thing is it come down to two matches at the end.
There will be big pressure on England then and who knows what the conditions will be like but I reckon the whole thing will really capture the public imagination.

Highlight of the sporting calender this year for me,with the ashes to follow hopefully a brilliant summer of cricket ahead if we don't win this world cup we never will we are number one in world by far the most consistent and at home with the most devastating batting line up around however it's a cup competition and anything can happen on the day I'm really looking forward to it and hope Morgan gets the send off his captaincy deserves

This is great chance for England, at home and with some real class in the side. Main rivals, Australia, have the big match mental attitude, India always a good side, fancy New Zealand as dark horses.

Steady away today from England, four good knocks without any conversion to centuries. Over to the Bowlers...

Yep agree

Or they could have included the lesser teams, if they truly wanted to globalise cricket. We know there are mostly shit but you get the odd surprise like Ireland a few years ago. Every team in the competition playing each other makes it boring, could be a few pointless games later on, ideal for some spot/match fixing cough cough.

At least we’re not Stockport

New Zealand doing that same to Sri Lanka.
Looks like a good contest between bowler and batsman based on the games so far.
We might not be seeing the huge scores that have become par of late. It's the way things should be but I imagine you would be pretty disappointed if you go to a game that is as good as over before you have drank your first pint of the day.

Personally after Scotland's recent triumph over England we should be in the tournament since our mens teams in all sports can't get into the world cup.

Saw the later stages, the batting performance of the lower order was pretty terrible for England today. We seem to lack something there. The game really slipped away when Moeen was at the crease.
Was always a tall order but a bit of a feeble showing in the last few overs.
In terms of the tournament as a whole England losing today and SA losing certainly livens things up a bit.

good win today, the West Indies always a tricky side to face, good innings from Joe Root, concerns on injuries to Morgan and Roy, but should beat next up Afghanistan.

Most underestimated player in team is Wood that lad is a very high quality bowler and along with Archer we have genuine pace at both ends and nice to see Root turn his arm today he very often takes wickets when he bowls.just a shame Wood is a bit fragile injury wise but I have no doubt if fit Wood and Archer will give Aussies a torrid time in ashes

What a storming win for Bangladesh today.
It does make the top 4 look a bit clearer, unless they can continue to upset the odds.

I have a Pavarotti riding on them winning the tournament at 100/1 with PP. Will be interesting to see what price they will be if they beat the Aussies this Thursday and with Afghanistan and Pakistan among their remaining games.
