He was signed as a cheap option to make up the numbers and a couple of months back was probably considering that his professional career might be fizzling out at the end of the season. A few games later and he is off for money, good luck to the lad.

My hunch is this was found out just before the Wendies replay & this is why he was dropped for "personal reasons".

So let's be clear we sell a decent player for about half of what we paid for a poor player who Curle and his sidekicks had scouted.

At the moment, if you had the choice of playing for Aberdeen or Carlisle it’d be Aberdeen every time apart from exceptional family reasons.

The fact that Aberdeen appear to have spotted a good prospect after 3-4 games says it all. It took Curle 6 months, and he still only played him because he had run out of patience with our other 'strikers'
And I use the term 'strikers' very loosely.
The fact that the club appear to be ready to accept buttons for him is fuc*ing criminal.

Maybe the personal terms were too good to turn down -his agent will have seen the £££££ signs for his commission cheque and the fact that Twardek and Stockton have arrived will have maybe have been a factor. Also that ommition from the Sheff Wed game , officially injured!!!!, might have been a factor. Maybe I'm wrong on that but who knows.

Sad to see him go as he looked to have potential but club didn't really have any choice if he's signed a pre-contract agreement and obviously wants to go sooner rather than later. Can't blame him for wanting to play in the SPL and it's good we get a bit of cash for him now rather than nothing in the Summer. Let's hope the club has time to tie a deal up for someone who maybe they thought they didn't have the funds for.

The Cosgrove situation is a symptom of the sickness which has taken hold at BP.

Your blind defence of Curle is your own business, but it is exactly that - blind.

We will make it through this season with no recognised keeper of our own, despite knowing last season that we were likely to have no goalie on the books at the end of last season.

That in itself is incompetent, negligent, reckless and irresponsible from a manager whose performance over the past 12 months has been absolute garbage, both in terms of transfer dealings and quality on the pitch.

We went into this window lacking fire power. We have disposed of two strikers, replacing them with one. We were short on numbers already, and are even worse now.

As for real life, I find it a breath of fresh air away from football. Which is why I will take the next few months to enjoy it whenever chance allows, rather than trying to find ways out of other commitments so I can sit in a freezing concrete block wondering why I am still bothering.

Thankfully I've only made a handful of games this year due to the real world. But the feeling I get from the club at the moment is one I've experienced a few times over the past few decades... inertia has kicked in, and we really are in the shit this time. It becomes more obvious with every week that passes.

Some of the comments on here are absolutely laughable - everyone was moaning about us offering him a deal to the end of the season about a month ago!!

The lad has shown promise but he has scored ONE goal for us, he's no world beater.

He was signed as a squad player and if the rumours are true we've managed to get £40k for him!

This is the equivalent of Nabi having 3/4 games in the league and then we sell him - hardly something to kick up a fuss about.

Our hands were tied anyway as he'd signed a pre-contract, might as well sell him now and get more money than we'd have got in a compensation package in Summer?

Only issue I have is it's 2 strikers out and 1 striker in...

The rumoured figure is around 40k so that covers Mitchell's and someone in the ticket office.

I’ve seen Cosgrove live once and has more about him in that game than Stockton, it just looks a bottom of the barrel signing.

I’ve seen miller last season and there’s a thing called the internet.

According to the Aberdeen Manager it was us that were keen to offload him in this transfer window... so that his him and Miller out leaving Hope Bennett and the new lad... so yet again another January transfer window where we lose striking options and come out "weaker". I hope Curle has a trick up his sleeve before 11 pm tonight.

I was wrong with Wyke, well once he started scoring and was off straight away, I won’t be wrong in this fella.

Cosgrove will score more SPL goals than Stockton and Miller will score more goals than Stockton in the remaining months of this season.

Seesaw, he did extend till June, Aberdeen showed interest.. He signed a pre season agreement with them...he wanted to go , so we got 25K / 40K for him to go now , instead of nowt come the end of the season.

It is a slight flaw in Curle's "pay em mean, keep em keen" projects that a player has 100+ other professional clubs on this island who they can impress enough to get a better contract at too.

Not as bad as the madden saga though, there we jettisoned off a player for 20K who was a proven goalscorer at our then level, and who then went on to get promoted with his new side 3 months later. Curle > Abbott

We in particular just have a track record of selling our best players for buttons. The only time we got proper money for a player was Joe Garner and half of that then went to Blackburn Rovers.

After all the certain clauses and agents fees etc I wouldn't call 110K for Garner proper money.
