Makes you wonder where all that has gone, mind!
As decent a player as Tom Parkes is, if we'd pulled in £5m in transfer fees over the last few years I'd be wanting to be investing more back into the team than players like him.

Clibbens publicly claimed that all the Wyke money was spent on Proctor, what a load of rubbish as who would spend an entire transfer kitty on loaning a player for six months.
If his boast was true then it was him and not Curle who wasted the money and Holdsworth should be stamping on his bollocks, I still don't believe the original claim however as I reckon it was just bluster.

And if it became public and I'm sure Curle would have made it public that he was refused permission to sign Proctor becouse of wages can you imagine the mood on here regarding lack of ambition ect...the board backed Curle to the hilt it didn't work
Plenty on here who seem to think they know what players earn were claiming Proctor was on massive wages by our standards whatever he was on Curle was backed and by fans too, remember Boro got a chunk of that transfer too

I don't recall anyone saying we have a budding championship or premiership player on our hands with him last year

Just a kid but it was obvious he could play. This time next year his value could be more like 1.25 million with more than 2 clubs interested. Hold onto him I say.

This. The short sighted typical of this board thing to do would be sell him now for 250k after only a few starts.
The smart thing to do would be another season, plenty of games at this level, perhaps even a few goals to his name and see his value increase next summer.

BlueBanana wrote: Carlisle White, as i told your lad when i gave him the info... With proper training, facilities etc, he will be an excellent signing. I've watched him from a very young age, played in the same team as my boy. Was head and shoulders the best player in the league, never mind our team. Was greedy, but ran rings around every team we played. He changed his game at CUFC, Undoubtedly with better coaching etc, could become a very good player. Told your lad, he's prob not ready for ch'ship, hence the loan back thing.
