I appreciate football has moved on and the top teams will use data for lots of things to maintain their position at the top, but I think if Pressley is having team meetings and banging away about stats, yards run, throw in success etc the players will switch off, I know I do in meetings when this happens.
I noticed when a sub was coming on against mansfield one of the coaches got a folder out and was flicking over pages pointing things out, the said player was nodding but just wanted to get on the pitch.
Getting on with the game always worked for me playing on hammonds pond pitch or the common on Scalegate road, that even included a break to have tea, wolf it down then straight back into the action !
