Now the GE is done and dusted, and with MP’s returning to Parliament today to begin being sworn in, we’ve locked the GE Thread last night, and you can now use this one for any Westminster related stuff.

Anything Brexit related will be moved to the ongoing Brexit Thread!

If you are quoting, please add a link to back it up. Post without and the quote may be removed.

Thanks.

Meanwhile in Northern Ireland.

"Loyalist paramilitary groups have told the British and Irish governments they are withdrawing support for the Good Friday agreement in protest at Northern Ireland’s Irish Sea trade border with the rest of the UK.

The Loyalist Communities Council, an umbrella group that represents the views of the UVF, UDA and Red Hand Commando, wrote a letter to Boris Johnson and Ireland’s taoiseach, Micheál Martin, warning of “permanent destruction” of the 1998 peace agreement without changes to post-Brexit arrangements for Northern Ireland.

The letter said unionist opposition to the Northern Ireland protocol – the part of the Brexit deal that keeps Northern Ireland a part of the EU’s single market for goods – should remain “peaceful and democratic”. However, the decision to withdraw support for a peace deal that underpins power-sharing in Northern Ireland seems designed to sound alarm bells in Dublin, London and Brussels.

The warning came hours after the British government was accused of breaking international law for a second time by the European commission after ministers said the UK would unilaterally act to give Northern Ireland businesses time to adapt to post-Brexit rules."

Europe is rehearsing the uprising!

More and more EU states are rebelling against the snail's pace at which the vaccines are arriving because the EU Commission sluggishly placed the order.
Yesterday Austria and Denmark announced that they would enter into a vaccination alliance with Israel in order to produce faster and better vaccines. The EU authorities were working “too slowly with the approval of vaccines”, said Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in BILD. One should "no longer only be dependent on the EU for the production of second-generation vaccinations."

More and more EU countries see it that way. Last week five countries sent a fire letter to EU Council President Charles Michel (45), complaining about "production problems and late deliveries" that "endanger Europe's path to recovery and back to normal life".

The letter was signed by the heads of government from Poland, Spain, Denmark, Lithuania and Belgium.

THE EU IS CRUMBLING!

She's already made her gambit, "where's the proof" and those wonderfull words " i don't remember "

Erm it's in the hands of the The Crown Office, but they won't release it.....

So, without the release he has no political immunity protection at the hearing, so if he ploughs on regardless, he opens himself up for prosecution. which in my view, is what he may do, let's wait and see.

One thing is for sure, Independence is well and truly down the toilet now.

I suppose it all depends what the deal makers are doing behind the scene's.

If this skeleton get's put in the wardrobe, then it's unlikely London will allow an Independence vote. However, I think Knickerless knows that.

She is fryed, as it's not going away, the old letch will make sure of that.

If you're Carlisle born and bred there is every chance that you have a lot of Scottish ancestry.

I think it was Charles Dickens who visited Carlisle in the mid 19th century and remarked upon the number of Scottish inhabitants of Carlisle at that time.

The big issue within the SNP now is how transphobic you are rather than independence. They've went full 'Brent Council' on the self identification - now if you reckon a bearded sex pest called Keith shouldn't be allowed to self declare as a female to get a cushy sentence in a women's prison (where they can sex pest some more) you're a big transphobic [censored]

The significance on the next couple of weeks should not be underestimated. If sleazy Salmond wins, Nickerless has no alternative but to resign, thems' the rules !!

If Knickerless resigns, the Scottish Independence movement is gone, for ever.

Whatever the outcome, it should be compelling politics.

Typically Scottish, they always turn on each other, always have and always will.

Thank God the Tories brought in Kate Bingham in to run the Government Vaccine Taskforce. One thing is certain Corbyn wouldn't have done that. He'd have set up a committee of civil servants to procure vaccines.

And were Starmer Prime Minister, we'd be part of the European Medicines Agency with just 3% of the population vaccinated, just like other members of EMA, which would be an even worse outcome than even Corbyn would have managed.

One things for sure, after the Tories jettisoned all their clever politicians we now have a bog brush in charge who gave contracts to their mates and 120,000 dead - it's hard to see anyone else doing as badly

Whilst not their biggest fan in the past I don't think that the Tories will come out of the whole pandemic situation too badly, I don't think that they could have done much more and yes mistakes happened but given a choice at the time of having Corbyn deal with the situation would have ben a disaster as he would have sent all of the vaccinations to Argentina, Bolivia or wherever his newest campaign was targeted at.

Even Brexit has been sorted - imagine if their was no pandemic and we were all on here gan radge about bananas going up four pence a pound and horror stories of some poor sod having to wait a couple of weeks extra to get their passport sorted.

Terrible vaccination figures for Scotland over the weekend. Shame they’ll be whitewashed by the demotion of Joanna Cherry today!

Fancy this too (From the attached link):

The SNP's reshuffle gives roles to every MP except the three seen as closest to former first minister Alex Salmond: Ms Cherry, East Lothian MP Kenny MacAskill and Western Isles MP Angus MacNeil.

The next few weeks will be fun with the upcoming submissions from Salmond and Sturgeon into the Inquiry!

ORFC am I not saying this right? If there is someone in the Lauriston eye hospital who tests positive for covid, that person is included in the daily figures as someone in hospital with covid. So when Sturgeon says, we have 1032 people in hospital with covid that person is included. I don't know how many people are admitted to hospital because they have covid but what would be a reasonable number, 25%? So Scotland has approximately 250 people in hospital because of covid. From a population of 5.5m.

According to Scottish government’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) definitions, the number of patients in hospital with suspected COVID-19 “may include people who are in hospital for other reasons but have previously tested positive for COVID-19.” While a count of new admissions to hospital only includes those who “tested positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to admission to hospital, on the day of their admission, or during their stay in hospital”, no equivalent cutoff appears to be made for this count of individuals currently in hospital.

And as you see if you test positive for covid in hospital you are in hospital with covid for the duration of your stay

https://www.cebm.net/covid-19/is-scotland-overcounting-the-number-of-patients-in-hospital-beds/

Not Heneghans Centre For Right-Wing Funded Medicine, he's been quiet since he piped up there was no second wave happening back in October :-)

No, if you test positive for covid before a planned procedure at the eye pavilion / dental school they tell you to not come in / piss off home. I had to get my temperature taken to get into the dentist's last week.

I haven't seen a 'recent poll', however those that I know well who voted leave would never be prepared to lose face by admitting they were wrong even if it turns out that they were.
I hope for myself and more importantly my kids they turn out to be correct, in which case I will admit I was wrong and misled.

I’d have voted leave every time but if there was a vote tomorrow I’d vote remain as Brexit now is suicide.

Four years ago we should have left with a no deal, short term pain, but we were in a decent position and could of gotten a decent deal with the US and probably the EU at a later date.

Now it’ll be a disaster, economy/jobs tanking. No friends at all, not even US now.

We should try for an extension, not sure we’d get one.

Anyway, it’s about to happen so prepare yourself.
