Attached is a short statement following the piece on BBC Cumbria Sport yesterday evening.

Can't see it being able to function with that number, as it would not be possible to hold a disciplinary hearing.

It is normal for half the Board (committee) to leave any hearing, thus ensuring impartiality if their is an appeal (which the impartial group would hear) to the final decision.

Co-opted members cannot be involved in discipline, so if you have a split vote on the original decision, there is a chance of stalemate, which would make the appeal difficult to manage (if there was one)

CUOSC recently asked for volunteers to join their Committee because they were short of numbers and couldn't make a quorum (8) This was also seen as a chance to increase the Committee's "skill sets" They then co-opted one of their clique to make up the number.

Now, with 4 up for re-election and facing defeat, they will reduce the number needed to just 6, meaning only 2 candidates will join. This way they will retain control by 4 to 2.

Then next month they will decide that actually 6 isn't enough to offer the range of skill sets required so 2 members from their clique will be co-opted back on because they had proved to have the necessary skills and experience. Thus giving them control 6 to 2. They can co-opt as many as they want I think.

Thus it's no change, as you were, and future seats on CUFC Boards are as planned for the next few years.

Next year rinse and repeat.

The CUOSC Board Membership Policy (See link) says this:

3.1 The Society Board shall comprise not less than 8 and note more than 12 Society Board Members.

I believe the possible move to any smaller numbers is for the future, from potential FSA guidance.

As you say, going for the smallest number possible is somewhat at odds with the cry for help at recent Member’s Meetings!

Agreeing to "say nowt" is not an NDA........

Agreeing to a Directors code of practice is different. as many things are Commercially Sensitive, but it's also a bit loose.

So signing a Confidentiality Agreement is common place, this covers what you can say.

An NDA is used when confidential commercial information such as drawings, financial predictions, etc are passed between parties often to protect Copyright, Patents and Intellectual Property and Rights.

It helps explain all the fluffyness when asked on the Radio, what happens if someone breaks the NDA. You would find it hard to kick in a disciplinary procedure against anything that did not exist, or is not clearly detailed in a policy.

It's best to use common sense and in the woke world we now live in ' Unless it's statutory, ignore it, or throw it in the bin'

It seem to me we are living in a time where people are simply making up their own rules.

The threat ND made about admin 😂😂😂 - As IF PD is worried about the trust spilling details of the loan arrangement, that they don’t know about.

Agree with MRF it’s not the end of the world for change.

This is one of the main things Carwash!

Nobody disputes that there is a place for the EDI stuff. It’s 2022, it’s part of modern society. Indeed at the recent EFL yearly meeting there was discussion about the topic and an agreement to feature it more etc.

But at CUOSC, it’s ridden roughshod over what the Trust actually is/should be - A meaningful voice for the fanbase. It’s completely taken over to the detriment of the organisation, hence my claims of stagnation - If those currently on the Board don’t recognise this then I genuinely worry for them!

The notes from the recent CUSG Meeting suggest EVERY game next Season will have some form of EDI action. It’s overkill to the point where folk begin to switch off and any message gets lost. Focusing on two or three events across the Season is far more productive surely?

I’m one of many of our fanbase to be blocked on Social Media in the last couple of years for daring to have an opinion by our new 1921 Rep, as is his right. Inclusivity only works how you want to it though eh?

Everyone needs something to blame for underperformance. Since Brexit, we can't blame EU rules anymore, so NDA's and Rules are the next port of call.

A NDA is detailed and specific in what you can and should not do or say, the one they have signed appears to be half cocked, as they had no real idea what the consequences of breaking it are. They also have a life, and are not forever, and need to be renewed.

Other association rules are there to try and ensure order, not to stand in the way of progress.

So the chant from the Trust" Come and join us, and join the board, we would welcome you " has changed to " it's a Trojan Horse ". real diplomacy, knowing fine well there is very little they can do to stop it, so why say it ? It has contributed to a division that has clearly been seen as a threat since day one of UF starting.

The Trust members spoke on the Radio about "The Club" as if they were nowt to do with it, and they somehow stood apart, maybe that's been the problem all along.

I must admit I had similar thoughts about ND and his diversity mission. I googled him last night to try and understand his position with the FSA and what role the FSA plays in CUOSC. I was surprised to see that the FSA seems to be a fairly loose group of fans organisations. It does have rules but not as rigid as those CUOSC seems to have imposed on itself. ND has also been open about the health challenges he has faced and he has my total sympathy and respect in this regard. I think though, UF need to come to an understanding with the CUOSC board that ND can maintain his special role in CUOSC spearheading EDI on a national level (very similar to what JN uses CUFC for) but that he steps back from representing CUFC fans in general (which he doesn't) especially on the Club board. That would allow more 'populist' CUOSC board members to turn CUOSC into the supporters club that it should be.

A thread on my personal feelings on CUOSC’s interview

The Trust needs change, of that there is no doubt, the Radio interview clearly demonstrates this further.

However, after reading your rant, I'm not sure it's not out the frying pan into the fire, why write all that sxxte ? What does it achieve, and who cares ? UF boxed clever at the start of all this by saying nowt, now it looks like the same old, same old.

A massive chasm is now open between the existing, and soon to be appointed members of CUOSC, brilliant, eh !

What a mess!

What are these deep secrets that are subject to a non-disclosure agreement?

Will a member of UF become indoctrinated into this secret society if the are elected to the board?

The “Trojan Horse - they want to oust us” comment couldn’t be clearer in indicating that Nigel Davidson’s primary focus is on maintaining his own position.

That comment, together with how he comes across in general on his Twitter feed, does make me want him ousted.

Ha ha. I listened. Sorry CUOSC, which bit of people feeling the Trust is stagnating = due to the lack of progress with the Purepay loan! They are completely unrelated 😂.

At last year's AGM, 436 CUOSC members were eligible to vote, including electronically, and only 47 members bothered.

That is true stagnation and apathy. Get a grip. You are running scared.

It’s great: it’s great to see the true feelings of trust personnel, as I’ve said years ago, but now public and they are making a car crash of it all - even I couldn’t predict they’d be that bad.

Stagnation of the trust, don’t point it at the club which is stagnating as well but wasn’t the point made. Point made was clearly about the trusts lack of communication, ideas, forward thinking etc.

What I s clear is they are scared of losing their positions. Tbh the trust are irrelevant.

Yesterday I emailed CUOSC for a confirmation of exactly how many places will be up for voting. When I receive a reply I will convey the answer.

Six days and counting and still no reply.

I tweeted them on Friday asking if they received my email, but radio silence reigns! I did hope it would maybe be answered in the ‘Engagement’ part of this weeks Briefing but alas no.

The wait goes on. Ridiculous…

I finally received a reply, but no answer yet, yesterday evening:

We are currently in communication with the FSA regarding various aspects of the AGM and will make an announcement when we get their full response

Mad it took nine days to get this, but it’s a start! Hopefully answered in their Briefing this weekend…
