Lads,

As expected, Hankey is playing hardball.

He’s increased his fee demands, at the last minute, for hosting the launching document launch event to £275. :(

Do you want me to cough up, or tell the cheeky count to do one?

Co Stompe is willing to step in for £175, but obviously doesn’t lend as much pizazz as Ted

Good!

If the trust/supporters club and even the other groups, not LB, represented their members they’d be no need for this group.

They ain’t hence the need for this group and hopefully will shake things up.

Things have been stale for a long time, with the same people in positions that haven’t achieved anything while those that have feel they need to walk away due to the pettiness of some groups.

Good luck to them, they have my support.

It sounds as if you know who they are and what their aims are?

It just seems very odd and a bit disquieting that weeks, possibly months after this was first mooted most people know nothing about the aims of this group or who is involved with it and that makes me very wary of the whole group, which is a pity if they are a decent setup.

I think “they” posted in November asked people to attend a meeting and hence decided on this action.

I’m not involved, I didn’t attend the meeting as I wasn’t well.

I might know some/might not. I’ve no idea of their aims.

The fact that over 200 people followed their Twitter account in 2 minutes might say something towards the issues supporters feel they have.

I’m going off the Facebook posts as to knowing this is a good idea and people have got onboard.

Let's face it they couldn't be any worse than the "official" supporters club aka the (mis) Trust who only represent their own interests & agenda and represent a small fraction of the support.
Perhaps they might also be better at fundraisng than the current incompetent bunch who don't think it's their remit to do so.

That’s the feeling, speaking to a few people after the match yesterday.

They just feel no voice, criticism of the trust/supporters club etc and want to try/involve something else. I spoke to someone involved in the trust previously saying it’s too clique etc.

Same old people in the same positions without anything happening. To be fair to these people there’s no one coming forward but they say they can’t do anything with the same people still being there.

Hopefully this new group will involve everyone and no cliques. It’s very hard to achieve.

The last cusg minutes summed up the problems for me. Signatories that are no longer members. Now I’ve no issue with John Kukuc at all and I think he’s a good person but I think he will agree also that there’s hundreds of people, apart from him that can do quotes and he is no longer involved in the trust - I just found that a bit odd also to still be a signatory - I don’t think it will but cause issues.

People are just fed up with the trust.
Personally I have no issue with any of them, I just don’t think there very good.

I met them last week and they wavy to say a lot more, I still feel they give our owners far too much respect and do everything told.

Such as being told to wait 15 minutes to release their statement in the failed takeover - why??? Why stand for it???

They are being played and aren’t strong enough. They main job is to represent supporters and they aren’t doing this hence the need for the new group!

I haven't a clue when they had to wait 15 mins but if it was a press release with other parties involved that's absolutely standard practise?

It wasn’t a joint one.

The clubs, written by EWM, released there’s where they put their side out. People would have read this and took that side.

The trust then released there’s, saying their side but had to wait 15 minutes on say so from the club.

Why??? Apparently they weren’t allowed to state their opinion throughout the takeover stage or comment on it.

I’m sorry, but I find it very odd that they agree to it. Stand up ffs and say no and if that means having to leave the boards than so be it - however it may be too late to sway opinion now.

No

Buts it’s still EWM running the show, they wrote the clubs statement ffs.

But they threw the trust under the bus and the trust played along with it - that I found very odd.

Are those involved hiding their identity for any particular reason? Seems very dubious.

Even the trust fronted up who was involved when they established themselves.

Laffy -its Fragmented these days ? in the 90s the supporters club was made up of various groups, London, West Cumbria, Eden , SW Scotland, Carlisle etc . Then Cuist came along the supporters club virtually disappeared, cuist then called themselves the official supporters club rebranded as cuosc folk got disillusioned with them , various groups got together again and cusg is in all but name the supporters club . Just like in the 90s in the good times under MK some folk dont identify and feel as if they were a part of any group and to put it bluntly some will always moan about everything but offer no alternatives nor are willing to get there finger out of their a8se to try and help but criticise everything that those that try do. So if its a group going to do something to help the club then great . But two months down the line no one knows who they are or what they are aiming to do. Yet when the club do that it's wrong !! Everyone at all the other groups are known and out there
But this new one is secret ,
So I will keep an open mind .
Ps Mullen you get all upset when cusg minutes are an hour late how come you are not on the case to see who they are etc etc 😉 😅
Another social media group which will likely fizzle out into nothing, even if it isn’t some form of controlled opposition.

If this group is genuine, good luck to them - but if it’s genuine, let’s get it all out in the open so we know who we’re dealing with.

The difference is Bob, these guys haven’t started yet.

They clearly stated what was happening, meet up, create a working group, find out what everyone’s doing then release a statement to start.

If you wanted to know who they were you could have attended the meeting.

Didn't know about it . Can't believe they never told everyone and had a secret meeting 🤔.
The point is that you have to be consistent. If you criticise one group for something you have to apply the same to these guys . Personally think it's good whenever fans get together providing it's for the good if the majority. It may not always make great strides but at least they are trying . A bit like when you are building a house the person who fits the kitchen etc are at the forefront of praise but someone has been doing the simple tidying up along the way to enable everyone to be able to do their thing .
No one notices that stuff .
Now if those who run the game say clubs have to do these little things to tick their boxes then back those who are willing to do it rather than criticise everything. In the modern game to enable us to win games requires everything from these groups on to someone unlocking the gates right up to Omari Patrick scoring the winner .
And we all celebrate when he does .
So anything that makes it better for everyone is great .
Ps I genuinely didn't know about it but I am not moaning about it , I will find out soon enough there us no rush . Now if they turn out to be like a certain group then I may moan about that 😉

There’ll get criticised all right.

But again they haven’t started properly yet, their startup plan was on Facebook, They have branches out to Twitter/here/elsewhere to release their statement.

It wasn’t a secret meeting.

There’s nothing to criticise at the moment though to that’s done.

Try helping instead of criticising it's better for you and everyone else .
I know ut wasn't secret , just like the other one wasn't. Many knew but some didn't. Exactly the same scenario

Hi again!

Just to clear a few things up.

We were formed in mid-November, held an initial meeting in mid-December then started a working group to discuss what direction to go in.

With the xmas and new year distraction, combined with little football, we decided to wait until now to go live.

The idea was initially posted on Facebook, with an open invite to the initial meeting. This avenue was used as the easiest to create quick awareness. We have since set up a Twitter and registered on this forum to further broaden our reach.

As part of our launch, we will also be speaking to the local media to further make our voice heard, hopefully our numbers on social media will increase more with the added exposure.

Regarding secrecy, all members of the working group are putting their name to our launch. There are twelve of us who met, or contacted to be involved, to launch the working group. All fans who want to have a better voice for our fanbase.

As our name translates, ‘United is stronger’ and hopefully what we are doing will see this happen. If it doesn’t, well, we tried.

UNITA FORTIOR.

Laffy, there is much about the club that mystifies me. So much secrecy and cloak and dagger goings on. Much of it deliberate to cloud the issues.

Why should this be any different?

Everything has to start somewhere, and their is an explanation above, so their is no 'cloak and dagger '.

I think this is (maybe) needed, the rest is a sxxt-show, the legacy of the Mistrust was to set Carlisle United back a very long way, and are a major contributor to the state the Club is in today.

Fresh people (I hope), fresh ideas, and a new approach is badly needed.

It's quite simple really give them a chance time will tell.
All seems futile really until we get new owners, no group is going to change that unless they can put together a take over.
Pretty good explanation of things from Unita above - personally think they are going about things in a sensible way and hopefully this is the start of something that those of us who are disillusioned with the trust can get behind.
