Don't think we will be hearing that anytime time soon.
Remind me again of how that goes.

Gimmie Shelter - The Rolling Stones.
Also the best intro to a song ever.

There's a lot of Maiden I could have picked -'Empire of the Clouds' is an increasing favourite - but HBTN is such a vital song in my musical development. The first time I heard it was the moment I became a music fan and although life would have been cheaper without it I owe that song a lot!

Heaven & Hell - Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath). An absolute masterpiece.

Awesome choice. RJD is an incredible vocalist.

Having given this a lot of thought, I think mine has to be Maiden's 'Hallowed be thy name"

I was 50/50 between that and Stargazer when he was with Rainbow.

If i had to pick a Maiden one i'd go with The reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg.

Saw them in Edinburgh about 3 years ago-supported by Johnny Moped, one of the earliest punk bands.’Darling let’s have another baby’ being a classic

Nothing much has changed in over 40 years-still the most exciting punk bank I’ve ever seen, closely followed by The Ramones

I Heard It Through The Grapevine ... Marvin Gaye

January 1968 I was working in London. The Evening Standard music critic (Ray Connolly) wrote “I have already heard the best song of 1968…..”.

Still just about my own favourite.

Very difficult to narrow down to my 10 favourite songs, never mind to one.
Loads of favourites for differing reasons. Some old, some quite recent.
But then I thought about it, and there's only one song that when I hear it, no matter what I'm doing, it makes me stop, and just sit and listen to it undistracted.
That song is Sunshine on Leith by The Proclaimers.
Absolutely magical.

So for the above reasons, I suppose this would be my favourite.

If you search on YouTube there's a video of the Hibs fan singining Sunshine on Leith at Hampden after they won the Scottish Cup (2016?) for the first time in generations.

It makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! As you say, absolutely magical.

My youngest daughter lived just off Leith Walk and we walked past her local when that game was on. The atmosphere in there was electric but unfortunately a few hours after the game it all went apeshit bottles glasses flying and huge brawl just hibs fans letting off steam 😂
