TOPIC: Leyton Orient Match Thread

I was there last night and agree with the previous poster, we played really well last night. A classic professional away win, defend well and hit them on the break, keep your discipline... just exactly what we wanted. We defended like we did at Anfield. Yes they had loads of posession and a few chances, but Carlisle deserved something out of the game, and with some luck for a change we took the 3 points. Awesome!

I thought Raynes was outstanding, and Dicker class as we know.... the two are for me now key players in this squad. Derek is tireless and ran himself into the ground. Sweeney - not everyone's favourite played well!

Carlisle onwards!.... Stevenage on decline...who knows this could be a great Saturday... win away, England beat the Aussies and we bask at seeing ourselves in the play-offs....

It's not possible for us to win on Saturday.

A win would give us positive goal difference, and we don't do that!

By the sound of Ian Hendon's post match interview, Keith Curle can claim an assist on our second goal as his continuing to coach from behind the dugout after being sent off caused a distraction.

Is it luck? Or have we got something else? Do we finally have a bit of team spirit? Have we finally got players who are prepared to stand up for each other, and play as a proper team? The previous 2 league games I'm putting down, almost entirely, to the Liverpool match.

I was there last night, having been working in London, and although we were lucky at times a wins a win.

Raynes has improved considerably from his first few games. Sweeney and Dicker played well last night. Great save by Gillespie and a goal kick was given.

Referee was very poor for both sides, some dodgy decisions didn't get much help though from his assistants.

However, a manager can't be sent off in the same way as a player in the sense of receiving a red card but can only be asked to leave the pitch and technical area.

Ian Hendon was moaning that whereas Hessenthaler went and sat up in the stands, Curle went into the seats immediately behind the dugout and continued coaching which Hendon claims caused a distraction in the build up to the winning goal. But unless the referee is allowed to tell managers exactly where to go, so to speak, it seems Curle was entitled to sit wherever he liked.

How do they even work out possession, how did they do it years ago without the advances in technology, did a man with two stop watches do it.

The only statistic that matters is the final score.

I went onto their website this am saw their gallery the Orient coach was screaming at Curle who stood there and faced him down, went back on this pm and they seem to have deleted the photo. I wonder why ??

The highlights did make it look like they were the better team by a long way but like people have stated it doesn't always do the game justice they don't include a teams possession and how they kept the ball. I still don't think we have played to our full potential yet which is very promising. They have some really good players especially Dean Cox who should be nowhere near league 2 he's in my opinion the best player in the league.
