France has closed it`s borders - HOW pray tell!

If you think of us closing our border with Scotland where else other than Gretna and Berwick would border guards have to be stationed? so up the A7 towards the Borders and all little side roads leading north.....and this is France - massive country

The problem is each government has a system for indoctrination prevention but they are all different we need one central system to control this threat, new people are going to make revenge attacks this normally happens its just not put on the news, these revenge attacks cause another person to gather the views of isis and then the whole cycle begins again. Closing borders etc wont help the problem it will make it far far worse.

Awful scenes yet again in a major world city, have to think what the world is coming to.

Paris is a wonderful city and to see it reduced to this fear on the news is heart breaking.

Another black day for humanity again im afraid

I don't think we should cancel the England France match - its an opportunity to show the world we are united - it can be much more than a football match with Wembley having cards showing the Tricolor - it will send a strong message and show we share their pain.

No official statement yet, the FA have just said they'll comment in due course. I agree they should play as a stand...

It hasn't been confirmed who the terrorists were, they could easily have been French citizens, just like the ones who bombed London were British.

A very sad day for the human race. The use of religion to carry out such atrocities is never a reason for such obscenity. I fear for our species these extremists want a world of religious fear, while the major corporations are intent on destroying the very planet that provides us with life in order to make bigger and bigger profits.
Rant over.

I doubt there is any solution to this. this is not a conventional enemy that fights in a conventional way. For me the only possible solution has to come from within the muslim communities, they, for me , are the only ones who can root out those who radicalise and promote the hatred. All we can do i is hope it never happens to us or our loved ones. As far as the west goes and indeed the rest of the world, it will only build more hatred and suspicion towards the muslim faith, and who could blame anyone for feeling that way? I ve no problem with anyones skin colour , ethnicity or faith. It's about having respect for your fellow man and how you treat them and conduct yourself in your own life. The end is nigh.

Indeed, they probably were French to be fair. Point still stands though, if they hate the place so much that they have to blow themselves up why not just f*ck off to a place where they can live with people who share their warped beliefs?

It doesn't matter what country these people were born in or brought up in...they don't see themselves as anything other than muslin brothers their warped faith is their nationality

They are within us it could happen today in any city or town in the world they are not a.tiny minority they are a significant minority

As for this country I think we need more help from within the communities they come from to help weed out radicals

"They are not killing our beliefs - they are killing their own."
When I wrote that what I meant was that there will come a tipping point, a final straw, there will be an anti muslim backlash across the world, I hope not, but unless they stop it themselves I can only see the inevitability of muslims being killed for what they believe in.

They are trying to cause a war, they want us to attack Muslims on the street they want to separate communities, People of all faiths need to stand together as if we let this come between our communities the problem will just get worst.

The Muslims are already killing each other, over 100 died during a peace march in Turkey last month. You automatically assume this is driven by religion. The UN estimates that 2m people have died in the middle east due to the US war on terror bennorton.com/report-over-1-2-million-ki...in-iraq-afghanistan/
Maybe it is just revenge

Lets hope the response is not to increase the killing

A War on Muslims is what they want, for them it proves their theory of West vs Islam.

As controversial as this is, it still disappoints me greatly that evertime something like this happens people are bending over backwards to not blame the whole Muslim community, to say that these are individuals separate from them, yet simply the extremists have to come from somewhere, and we have to wonder if individual Islamic communities are doing enough. These attacks might show that they are in this country, but are struggling in others.

We know that its not an Muslim problem, its an 'extremist' problem, but for me the time is coming that we are going to have to start asking the tough questions to save ourselves, however many people it may offend

Thing is if Muslims do speak out they more than likely get done over themselves, some mess like - so many must feel totally trapped, when you see Parents murdering their own kids etc for taking up western values etc....

I don't think it's driven by religion but it is underpinned by it. They claim to carry out these attrocities in the name of allah, therefore they use religion to justify it. We're the infidels remember! Would we be better off segregated? Maybe. If that's what it takes to make a safer world to live in then so be it.

Fair point, but the radicalisation and indoctrination can't all be invisible surely? It is taking place in mosques within the muslim communities, and it is allowed to continue, Abu hamza, anjan choudri, abou quatarda, (apologies about the spelling of your names guys, Im sure they read this board, oh, actually, fook em! Ill spell it how I like, free country and that like eh!) They've spouted hatred and little done to put a stop to them in reality. Millions spent in legal costs over cases where we should just have said " you've made it clear you don't like us and how we live, there's the plane, get on it and don't come back."

Apologies if I put words in your mouth. We already know where the largest source of fundamentalist schools and training camps are, Saudi Arabia. They behead more people every year than ISIA as well. A bit tricky for Cameron though as the largest suppliers of weapons to SA is ... Britain.

ISIS kill more Muslims than the western powers do by far, they kill anybody who doesn't agree with their beliefs regardless of religions.

We need a response from the middle eastern countries though together with ours, the combined armed forces of the countries surrounding the ISIS strongholds are many times greater than ISIS have, however none of those countries are doing anything, a lot of them are even believed to fund them.

I'm a teacher and we're having training - along with every other school in the country - on this, as part of the government's "prevent" strategy. Any suspicious comment or change in behaviour needs recording and if a child or sibling group build up a bit of a profile they need reporting. Not just Islamists mind, we need to do the same with far right groups as well.

Ultimately the real problem here is , where will it happen next? The news report this morning commented as to easy the movement or aqusition of automatic weopons has become on mainland europe, how can you plan to prevent more of the same? utterly impossible, like pissing in the wind.

Of course in some cases you can,but mostly you cannot I know of trainee doctors and school teachers who are convicted terrorists over here don't really get more respected professions than that.

Of course you can't tar every Muslim with the same brush can you ? But how many prominent Muslims in society do you here standing up and condemning these sadistic animals ...not enough ...if any at the moment its getting to the stage in this country a feeling that you can't trust any of em ...can I say that ? Or have I offended the poor Muslims

Oh you mean Blairs' wife then. Funny that isn't it, he brings in legislation and his wife capitalises.

We sat on our arses for too long when vitriolic preachers like the bog eyed abdul hookman was spouting vile diatribes because to say something was to be branded racist. This is what the political machine helped to create but I don't see them coming up with answers to it. Now we have far right groups gaining support because of this and I fear innocent muslims will pay a price for their incompetence.

It's typical of the jihadist attitude, attack innocents who have had nothing to do with it, not those who are responsible. Big and brave of them. If they considered before attacking London that millions marched to demonstrate against going to war there they would realise it wasn't the peoples choice.

There isn't an easy answer to this, were they home grown like before, have they come over as refugees? Either way they are here and we have very little options or chance of stopping it happening again.

Probably the same reason not many prominent irishmen condemned irish terrorists, you just make yourself a target in turn. There'll be a lot of intelligence from muslims getting passed along anonymously though

We need a response from the middle eastern countries though together with ours, the combined armed forces of the countries surrounding the ISIS strongholds are many times greater than ISIS have, however none of those countries are doing anything, a lot of them are even believed to fund them.
Saudi are just a bunch of f*cking savages but with a bit more money and oil for us so we put up with it.

Was talking to a lad last night (before all this kicked off actually) who works on the rigs in Saudi. Said that when he's been on shore there he's been in bad traffic that's caused by everyone being out for a public execution. Apparently some bloke was proper excited over the fact that a beheading took two hits of the sword or whatever ffs.

There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, accusing all of them of keeping their heads down is a bit harsh. Especially as while the news has (rightly) expressed its outrage about Paris it has been quieter about yesterday's bombing in Beirut which killed nearly 50 Muslims and badly wounded another 200. ISIS uses very powerful and expensive weapons. Where does it get the money from? It sells oil, who to? Al Nusra, the moderate Syrian rebels we have heard so many positive things about from the press and the Kurds, who we are also arming. If ISIS didn't have any money it couldn't continue but ...

People can try to absolve religion of blame after these attacks as much as they like but if people were taught to value things like evidence and reason it would be much harder to persuade them to go into a nightclub wearing explosive vests.

Its amazing how much, George Bush and Tony Blair have messed up, these two have got to take a huge responsibility in the rise of extremism should really be put on trial for war crimes
exremism in the Middle East existed long before Blair and Bush got involved. It's just lazy to blame everything on them... Sure they didn't help... But the issue is way more complex than simply blame the Americans.
