Today definitely wins the prize for the most confusing team selection by any manager of any team in the history of ever.

We tend to do ok though when I have no idea what formation we're playing or get angry with the team selection.

I'm not surprised Brough Thompson and Balanta. why not stick Osio or whatever his name is up front too.

Grainger and Sweeney were announced as carrying knocks, one makes it other doesn't...

Hope and Kennedy, as just said on Radio, are the big surprises, likely knocks as not on bench?

The Tinkerman returns!!

Looks like 4 5 1 but still suprising with the personnel, no game midweek, injuries or just targeting a fixture where he thinks we can get something even while looking at a few?

No surprise to see Gillespie back though

May be last chance saloon for some, it is lashing it down so extra desire from those playing for a new deal might make a difference

Sounds like Bristol are well on top.

I notice that a few of our players keep slipping again - are we the only team in the league who cannot get to grips with decent appropriate footwear?

Just be thankful we've actually got a website never mind fancy graphics. If it was down to the horseman you'd be finding out the result in the local paper on Monday.

Don't be silly - the Horseman and their chum would ban the result from being in the local paper; it might be 'negative'

Curle needs to apologise to the away fans for that team selection..... Brough, Thompson, Balanta awful........... Pay money get soaked to watch a game Curle clearly had no intention of winning...... They were crap can see how they have lost 7 home games. Another 3 points tossed away.....

Re:Bristol Rovers (A) 14 Nov 2025 18:10 #41

On the radio Curle said that only the keeper change from last week was his choice.

We have a big squad and it gave them the chance to shine in the rain but they didn't show up.

More like a performance we used to dish up last season, justifies some of the opinions from that other thread where who is it we should keep or get rid of.

More likely you need to apologise to Curle. Can people not read posts above telling them players were unavailable for selection?

Terrible game. Created nothing. I got soaked to the skin . Fringe players were terrible.
Atkinson, Ellis, Sweeney Dicker come out of the game with credit. The rest were poor or worse.

Well done to the 350 odd cufc fans and a big thanks to the BRFC fans. Great reception from them in the pub beforehand and on the way to ground. Proper fans.

I have lost the 'Bragging rights trophy' to my BRFC supporting friend after years of it being in Cumbria . Ages since they last beat us but they have now.
Never mind, hopefully it will come home in march.

At any level you can't afford to have wingers in good positions to deliver that hit the first man, Thompson and Brough were terrible for that today, the latter is riding his luck big style to be still in the system and the former is dogshite, no justification needed.
Their second goal was like a step back to last season, far too easy to get a shot away and poor from Gillespie. We missed Raynes today and Ibehre and Hery should've both been on at half time. They were nothing special but we never looked a threat, really disappointing.

Very poor today - as mentioned Rovers were very average - made Yeovil look good to be honest. At full strength it would have been different. I am a Curle fan - but today I think it's fine to slag him off. I don't care if we are down to the bare bones - The likes of Thompson and Balanta should not get in the starting line up under any circumstances. Hery would have been a better bet than Balanta and I should have been preferred to Thompson.
