Another great gesture, support has been amazing.

So just the Hartlepool game now to sort. The Blue Army road trips go into over drive

Plymouth will bring 800 plus, going well and already a well supported club.

I can confirm that MRF has just spontaneously combusted at the choice to play at Ewood Park instead of Derwent Park,Workington.

His first choice was Netherhall Pitches at Scaryport.

Should have had it in Motherwell, would have set a english league match travelling distance record for Plymff

I know they probably wouldn't appreciate a 1000 mile round trip but the Guinness Book of Records beckoned

Maryport has its own stadium... almost as up to date at bp. They havent even contacted Workington Town apparently which is a shan.

Team and fans have done enough travelling already this season costing folk a fortune.. and further games away from home means more expense which many have trouble affording to go as it is. My boycott has no relevance.

We need decent pitches. Both Preston and Blackburn have decent pitches. Well done to both clubs for letting us use there ground.

To be honest it makes Borough Park looks more suitable.

Whilst playing away from home isnt ideal, personally I think it is the right way to go. We are all assuming that BP will be fit by late January but if something goes wrong, pitch fails to regrow or further weather issues then the club would be screwed with so many replays if we just keep postponing them. Maybe Curle has said hed rather play elsewhere than have a fixture pile up. If we really are aiming for promotion then repeated Sat Tues Sat fixtures will seriously affect the squad. It might be shit for the fans but if its best for the squad then its the right thing to do.

The bottom pic was tsken from the river end which isnt used . Mock all you lot like but as i said it aint the ritz... its closer to home and holds enough to accomadate our average gates.

As CCU says it has not been approved by the Football League and would require a visit by an inspection team. More trouble than it's worth.
Borough Park has approval for FA Cup games (Reds played in the FA Cup) but not football league games so there is a chance of the Yeovil game being played there

I'm gan to have to get a refund on ST if they're gan to play all home games in bloody Lancashire.!

I think it's positive that we're looking up to bigger clubs and stadiums than us, rather than down at piddly little clubs.

I've a feeling it might favour the 'away' teams greatly.

Gather those not twining are loaded and are happy to keep forking out.. Games should be played in Cumbria or cancelled like it was 10 year back.

There's more to consider than location, yes, we'd all like games closer to home, but you also need the correct facilities. Flood lighting for example, this time of year, they're gonna be needed, if they're not up to scratch then the venue is ruled out. With Deepdale, Ewood etc at least we know that the facilities are decent!

10 years ago we were non league.

And yes we were due to play at Gretna 10 year ago. So why not ytry play at Palmerston instead for once instead of Lancashire.. The football league should make special ruling on this. Stuff a fancy stadium,,, its league 2 football .And folk have enough spending to do and forking out more to attend games miles away does not sit with me im afraid.

You logical suggestion isn't logical.
The only football league suitable venue in Cumbria is Brunton Park.

Borough Park (ditto Holker St.) may be used for FA Cup, with special dispensation from the FA. Capacity was reduce to 2500 when we last used it.
Going north gets to complicated with FA, FL, SFA, UEFA all needing to weigh in. Deepdale/St James are just as easy to get to anyway. Blackburn is hardly a chore.


Folk that can't travel, won't fork out or can't afford it will have enough nouse to just NOT GO. It ain't rocket science nor will their universes collapse.
Quite sure you can get pissed and make a tit of yourself in your own town if need be.

Why cancel them, when they can be played? Only an idiot would willingly pile up their fixtures, especially with a fit, 'in-form' squad.

I'm with MRF to a certain extent here ( not the Derwent Park suggestion!)

It is almost unprecedented playing games all over the place.They could have postponed the three matches and played them midweek without any problem that I can see. Clubs have had massive problems in the past with postponements but I cant recall such a drastic remedy.

Teams should play 23 games at home and 23 away. Its not a Sunday League!

If playing twice a week knackers our promotion chances (not that it definitely would) that's just bad luck in my eyes.

Hi, we can only play our football games in England/Wales, the FL have maintained this. They have been supportive in other ways which will become apparent early next week and the club are working on travel for fans. They (the club) absolutely understand the upheaval this will cause & are looking to minimise the expense for people. The amount of different tasks that were discussed and planned today was phenomenal. Everyone will have their own opinion on the venues of the home games. Sometimes decisions are made that will not be great for some. However this is an extraordinary event & they are working flat out to ensure we have our games played. I'm disappointed so far that Virgin Trains haven't helped us in anyway.

Will Virgin trains not have had a busy week themselves? Maybe doing a favour for some CUFC fans, not top of their priority list at moment?

Aye running a few Carlisle fans to Preston is hardly important in the grand scheme of things.
