If a ground is fit to hold FA cup games how the hell can it not be fitted to hold a league game in an extraordinary case like this im sure fans could slum it for a game or two it hardly like BP is modern is it

im with markredfox on this games should be held as close as possible or called off

how much will this cost club in lost revenue or are we covered by insurance for lost revenue?

im not ungrateful to other clubs help just feel if we could find somewhere in Cumbria we should we might even get some new fans....

Hi, we can only play our football games in England/Wales, the FL have maintained this. They have been supportive in other ways which will become apparent early next week and the club are working on travel for fans. As has been pointed out, rearranging all these games would cause a fixture backlog, which could lead to us dropping off the pace later in the season.

It may seem unlikely, but we are far from out of the promotion race. How much would it potentially cost us were we to pass up a shot at promotion?

Would you rather:

A) Make it to every game, and see the club finish just outside the play-offs?

OR

Miss 3 or 4 games, and see the club get promoted.

Also, were we to drop off the pace due to not playing games, then struggle to make the ground up, how much would our end of season crowds suffer? And if we take the hit on 3 or 4 crowds but keep our form up, how much will our end of season crowds gain?

In the long run, it could cost us dearly NOT to play these games elsewhere.

In other words a little enforced winter break to recharge the batteries of players and staff alike

Very appreciative of the way the football world has rallied around and I take my hat off to Preston and Blackburn for accommodating us.
Far from ideal to have to travel 200 miles for a home game.
This highlights for me, though, what a unique club Carlisle is and when we return to Brunton Park, what a great feeling that will be.
Preston, Blackpool, Morecambe, Fleetwood, Accrington, Burnley, Blackburn, Wigan, Bolton all pretty close together.
Up here, if you want to see league football (normally) it's Carlisle United and that's it.
So when we get back to Brunton Park, let's fill it.

they'll have to pay stewards,people selling refreshments, groundsmen, tannoy announcer, policing, plus more that i'll have missed. dont think they'll make anything to be honest

am looking forward to Ewood Park myself - last time I was there was 1965 or thereabouts `66 maybe..........we went on a Fans Special train in some numbers

just consulted my book "Carlisle United The Complete Record" - Sooooo was either 27th December 1966, we lost 2-0 after playing them at home the day before (Boxing Day) and losing 2-1........yeah that`s back to back games! Or it was 23 August 1967, the second game of the season, we lost 1-0................That`s when we were in the proper Division 2, in old money along with the BIG teams like QPR Birmingham............. Portsmouth and Plymouth are the only 2 from that 67/68 league keeping us company now.

A decent stadium with a modern but traditional feel to it would of liked to see BP developed along the same lines on a smaller scale. Think barring St James this game will get the biggest crowd of all our games on our travels.

Cherry Tree for The Station and Beehive ale houses - taxi to ground.

MIll Hill for Navigation, White Bull, Moorgate, Brown Cow, Fox and Hounds or Fernhurst. Walk to ground, 10 mins. I used to live in Mill Hill and White Bull was my local, few good cafes round the station.

Blackburn for Spoons, Times Bar etc - taxi or walk.. Don't go in the Sun. Take 20 mins to walk.

Great drink near the Ground and folk will mainly be alright with you if you are alright with them - same as anywhere really.

Me and dad used to go for years by train and get off at Mill Hill, no need to book early really - cost about 24 quid return. Parking won't be hard but better seeing someone local before as sure there are some roadworks around Ewood at the minute.

I was in the jack Walker for the Rotherham game the other night. Upper tier would be ideal for us. Great view and holds more than enough I'd expect.
Plymouth in the Darwen end.
I live about 5 mile from Ewood. Plenty pubs in the area. Ewood working mens beside the ground is good and cheap too. They let you in for a quid.
Blues bar near club shop is ok too.

Plenty of free places to park nearby and easy to get back on motorway. Walk to station is about 15min
Avoid the town centre as it is a dump with no decent pubs. Also avoid the pies . Apart from that it should be a good day.

Quite surprising how many boozers remain really round Mill Hill and Pleasington when you think about it, noticed a big change in cost for a round mind when I went down a few week ago round those areas compared to Lloyds and Woodrows - far cheaper up here.

Hi rasher. If you don't mind a 15 min walk you could park on milking lane . Two minute drive off the m65 in lower darwen and one long road down the ground. Good chippy there and the uncle jack pub on the way.
It is a decent estate and nice and safe.
It avoids the main traffic and you will be away in no time once you get back to the car.
