Why Hallam Hope? If Holt's 16 goals in 4 seasons at a higher level and when injured for a lot of it isn't good enough, then Hope's 17 in his entire career at bury and here isn't either (stats nicked from spotterbase, sorry soccerbase)

I have to agree with you orfc, personally not sure why we keep going for players that we have had before?? especially when they really haven't set the world on fire.

Wouldn't be surprised if we looked at Tom Eaves at Yeovil. Sure Curle was a fan and tried before?

Paynter is already fixed up if you believe the Northern Echo from earlier in the week.

A few seasons back Tom Eaves played up here for Shrewsbury whilst on loan from Bolton and he looked like he had something and was a potential decent big target man type but his career seems to have gone off the boil. Ryan Taylor was another one.
Maybe they just looked good compared to our own Mark Beck!

Keith was proved right by binning Paynter, managed to help take Hartlepool down - what a shan.

No idea how good these guys are but they were all loaned out last season to league 1 & 2 clubs. If we are short of budget season long loans represent our best chance of bringing in some quality

Missed out on him already Curle said so last night
Also missed out on the Lincoln guy and the Brentford keeper

I wonder if one of the players we've missed out on is Matt Green?
He says he's had offers from league 2, league 1 and championship. Bolton are apparently front runners to get him. He'd be a cracking signing for this level but don't think he's championship standard.

Aye Southport would be my initial guess too but given whats going on there its doesnt look like they would of offered a contract to anyone yet
But theres more in the echo feed tonight about the end of his time there

Bit here about a Port Vale fan who would like him back, he must be off his tits as Paynter will probably be constantly injured and most of the other posters don't seem keen either.
Is their manager Graham Kavanagh?

Good Work That Man
But the one thing that stands out there is the lack of much quality
Lets hope Dykes has identified a few who are out of contract and fancy a move.

Could maybe to with someone like Roger Johnson, released by Charlton, always looked decent for Wolves and Birmingham.
Similarities to Kevin Gray.

Supposed to be a few surprises as to whos not getting offered new contracts at Bradford maybe we know someone there who owes us who could put in a good word or too.

I'd take a chance on Barry Corr & Shaquile Coulthirst as a couple forwards.
Nathan Clarke at centre half also.

The budget is only poor if you believe those people who think we spent the entire Wyke money on the wages of an average journeyman lge 1/2 footballer and a PL reject whos total wage was less than half that of some of our squad[ of which we would only be paying half. If that given the events of the last couple of days]
The only way our budget would be poor is if either Jenkins has trousered it or theyre too stupid to manipulate the million quid of EWM money to inflate our protocol limit by half a million quid

No i.d say its quite a bit less than the figure that you mention.
But what i.m saying is the wages we removed from our wage bill since December will have more than covered the wages of all the players brought in since then without us needing to break into the Wyke transfer money.
