A Thread for debating who’ll be next into the Brunton Park hotseat!

Simmo would be nice but not much chance. Don't really think it will make any difference as long as we are stuck with the incompetents running the club.

One of the biggest appointments we’ll likely ever make this time.

Do we go experienced? Big name to get the fans back? Up and coming?

Massive few days ahead.

Over to you CUFC…

I think the BOD will want someone popular with the fans to take the heat off them.

Danny Grainger or Peter Murphy perhaps.

Possibly for DG - No for PM.

Anyone know who Adam Collin is referring to here? Referring to when Beech was appointed:

“when the job was available I spoke with DH and told him the man to get who was a experienced manager, he had 2 interviews, then went with some1 with no experience. #cheapeasyoption”

In my heart I want someone like Danny Grainger did a good job at Workington and knows the club (although at level much lower than ours ) but feel it would be important to pair him with the right assistant somthing that a I feel like was not done with Beech who need someone with experience alongside him .

My worry is if we go for experience it will be one on their way down looking for another paycheck or would see straight through the current board and be off like a Shot.

Keith Curle looked very cheery on Quest at Mansfield. Maybe he’s been approached.

No experienced manager will want to come and work with this shit show.

It could also be the end, before it’s begun, for any new manager.

GS will get first shout. If he does well with a group of players I think should be good enough for this division, he will be the cheapest option and slightly proven. He ticks a lot of boxes.

Disclaimer: A lot of the boxes this current BOD would want ticked.

Time to announce Lee Clark and use his knowledge to raid the untapped Sudanese market

Giving it to someone like Grainger or Murphy with no experience of League 2 management would be a big risk, but would fit the BOD’s recent pattern of appointing someone who can’t believe they got the job and therefore won’t rock the boat.

It also appears the new manager won’t have the luxury of choosing their own assistant and will instead receive a free Gavin Skelton.

Because of the dire situation we’re in I would personally go for experience in the Sheridan or Curle mould.

Beech looked good. Young manager, very modern, experienced coach, analytical. Shame he was so shite, totally unwilling to change tactics that so obviously weren't working.

Usually we have to keep paying the manager until the end of his contract. Can't they make him work as a coach? Get some value for our £7k a month.

I think clibbins will either go for similar.

Doesn't matter who comes in as the rubbish will continue. A mid-table finish will suit the BOD no end.
Keith Hill worth an interview.

With Beech as his assistant. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Does it really matter who they appoint? They have proved conclusively that they couldn't pick their nose let alone a successful manager. There is a long line of managers for the lucky interviewees to talk to about the lack of support they will get from the board.

Nothing will change unless the rest of them go too.

Sack the lot before we go down.

Skelton or Grainger as an assistant to someone like Hill might be worth considering.

Graham Westley odds on favourite :D

Someone has obviously chucked a tenner down the drain for a laugh.

Hills a bit of a loose cannon. Wouldn’t fit in with Jenks and co.

I’d have believed Nobby’s list but Lee Clark was a shocking omission IMO…

:)

Sol Campbell
Mike Flynn
Rory Delap
The choice is endless but I wouldn’t want to be responsible for choosing the right man.

Why do some want Skelton to be part of the new regime.
He has been part of the problem not the answer.

Flynn did wonders at Newport. Offer him whatever he wants to get him here and let’s start to build a decent squad

This board want to sell assets, not acquire them.
I wish everyone would stop the weird obsession with bringing back former hero’s. It’s such a strange Carlisle United supporters psyche which is do not understand. They’re more likely to ruin their previous image rather than enhance it.

For me Andy Morrison would be a great option, a really fighter and did a great job with Connah’s Quay. Pete Wild is doing well at Halifax as is Phil Parkinson at Alty. First and foremost DH and NC should evaluate the strengths of the squad and find a manager that complements those.
