Looks like they have made a loan to the 1921 company-registered at Companies House.

Reading through Clibbens' interview it is typically very carefully worded which I admire. Despite the baby steps taken so far I think our speculation is still consistent with a possible longer term plan. We now await the filing of the club's annual accounts for the year to June 2016 by Friday next week. These will seem very historic but Clibbens has said that the PFD loan has been partially repaid during that financial year.

Things to watch out for will be, Will the PFD loan be treated as a current liability consistent with how PFD show it in their accounts? If the PFD loan is shown as a current liability I would expect it to be cleared shortly after the accounts are signed. Will the EWM loan arrangement as expected be shown as a post balance sheet event and will it give details of the facility amount? How much will AJ personally be owed at 30.6.16? No doubt there will be some other details which will catch the eye. Meanwhile I expect AJ to make some warm comments in his programme notes regarding EWM.

I liked it when Clibbens spoke about the positive response from fans to EWM's involvement from what he has seen so far. Let's stay positive and keep them keen!!

If hes a non dom and his time in the country is restricted I imagine he would need someone running the club on a day to day and his own involvement would be limited. In which case I worry that Jenkins is simply going to be replaced by Day as Mr Emergency Loan and Nixon/Clibbins end up staying where they are.


PD is a UK citizen living in Cumbria. There is no way he could qualify as a non dom under the current tax rules.

I found his website http://www.philipedwardday.com/ He may well be restricted on how much time he can spend on cufc, might travel abroad a lot but without upping sticks for a period of time he can't be a non dom.

On the one hand we are duped to believe a Billionaire was interested in buying our Club, however - ' we're taking legal advice as to whether we can disclose any information ' - Yet on the other hand they have been talking to Day "outside the spotlight" so, no exclusivity to that NDA then.........

so, as I read it, we lose money every year and AJ ha to dip into his wealth to prop the business up. we now owe him circa 2Million quid. Aj has got sick of this and has asked PD to take over the dipping into personal wealth duties. if the 3 amigos stay in charge, then in 5 years time we'll still owe AJ 2M and will also owe PD 2M. is that progress?

or is it a case of AJ saying lend us 2M and ill put the club up as security. he makes the first payment on the loan then says up yours, you're not getting any more and the club is yours. p.s. Nixon and pati are your problem now. cheerio.

I also heard that PD was a tax exile, which would mean he could only spend six weeks in this country each year.

Mind you that would change if Scotland gained its independence, and then he could live in Gretna.. :-)

Make no mistake tis is a move in the right direction.PD inherited superb senior management at EWM and I have no doubt that they will make Carlisle United work. I think supporters should not concern themselves with AJ JN and SP.Always remember he who has the money calls the tune.EWM would not be just lending money to a football club. If they wanted to enter the lending market they would buy a bank.I feel they are in it for the long term. I hear that Sir Shiftys private jet could not land at the airport recently and I also hear he was meeting PD.Could EWM be about to buy out Arcadia as well!!

Also do not forget that PD has huge respect in City of London so raising finance is not a problem for EWM.The future expansion of EWM is a certainty and with that expansion sometimes it becomes fashionable to have a Premiership club on board.

Ive spoken to someone i know whos pals with pd. Currently together in switzerland. Phil laughed off all talk of a takeover saying this loan crack is old news,still not interested in owning cufc.
And seeing as he lives in dubai and only comes to the uk for a couple of week a year would he really bother.

Misplaced optimism total shambles... I hope something comes of this EWM thing and there is a clean sweep of board manager etc at the end of the season. If it is just EWM pumping money into this shambles then after the last 9 years of this ineptitude I for one have had enough although I've been supporting and watching for 54 years...

Couldn't agree more Trisklionblue! I've gone full circle now with the club and fed up of it too. Luton at home was my last game home and away until a new broom sweeps out the rubbish.

Whether that be Day or someone else who cares, how can it be any worse than what we have got now!?!?

Another scenario to Days loan is the club go into Administration when the loan remains unpaid. Hopefully the summer could be interesting.....and I hope to return to watching games again with renewed hope and ambition.

I'm afraid you were right.Listening to NC today was like listening to a parallel universe.The match was immaterial to the interview before KO.

The Club is now massively in debt yet we are expected to believe that the Club is being run well and be thankful for the totally misplaced benevolence of AJ.I doubt he embarked on this pilgrimage back when the Club was on the verge of the Championship thinking he would blow £2m!Losing £500k pa is not normal-it's actually something quite the opposite yet we who have run many successful businesses are not worthy.

That the EWM loan,a mortgage on the stadium,was not announced as its 'normal' is ludicrous-we find out because it was noted at Companies House.Yes-we have mortgaged our only asset for I'm guessing £500k.How do we pay it back and where does AJ sit now as his loans are definitely second division when compared to the ranking of the debenture.

A poor day all round and we are led by the nose again.

We obviously don't know whether the loan involves AJ/Pioneer loans being taken out.I suspect not as it's not exactly been given a fanfare.

At the end of the day,I think this is a good move for the Club despite the lack of detail

As supporters, EWM need to clarify what their intentions are because as supporters we have been lied to far too much.
We need and deserve honesty. Something which has been lacking for many, many years from the corridors at Brunton Park.

I do think they will take over and that's the long term plan but I'm thinking it may be done via administration in the not so distant future.

I met the trust today who said this will be good for the club but had no detail, also the NDA had no end date????? I did leave more confused than before I went in but never mind.

Very confusing this business ownership thing, when Pioneer had that contamination scare thing, did Jenkins 'lend' Pioneer the money to cover the costs and will want it back at some stage?

Technically speaking, when you own a football club it is a bit cheeky to claim that the staff you employ you only pay for by going in debt to yourself and the club has to pay it back....

Maybe one for Laffy but if EWM as i think is happened have lent the club say £500k and mortgaged against the ground.

I presume EWM have got some sort of pay back agreement otherwise they wouldn't of took security against the ground.

So I'm adding 2 + 2 here and thinking that maybe EWM are hoping that the club can't meet the loan demands, admin will happen and they will make an offer get the club that way relatively debt free.

Technically administration is as likely as Mullen joining the CUOSC board :-p although you could be almost right. If the club defaulted on its debt to EWM and couldn't pay its bills EWM has the right to appoint an administrative receiver who would take control of the club but only on behalf of EWM not on behalf of the other creditors. That would give EWM total control subject to the rules of the Football League regarding football debts, ownership etc. I don't think this is likely though as there should be enough security provided by Brunton Park to cover the debt rising to £2 million or in other words probably another couple of seasons' worth of losses.

I'm not surprised if there is no end date to the NDA. These are drafted as non-disclosure agreements not deferred disclosure agreements. The courts would perhaps imply a reasonable period of time if there is no end date but that could be 10 years. Therefore I wouldn't bother waiting to learn the name of the POI.

Knowing those three, they will think they will be able to pay back the loan when we get promoted and continue to have great cup runs, 'the good times are just around the corner and the money will flood in like before' attitude.

BEWARE: Pressing the active FF button will interfere with the space-time continuum and it is perfectly normal to suffer from varying degrees of head ache/nausea, with immediate effect. This is due to the limbic system having to realign after a major mood shift due to the sudden onset of pre season happy clapping and the traditional false sense of hope for the season ahead. These symptoms will be short-lived and alleviated to a degree by the sudden realization that DE is now the manager having proved himself beyond question with the youth team (KC having moved on to a new lucrative half season only deal at Wolves). PD/EWM did not take over in the summer and it was merely a ruse by the Carlisle Three, who allowed and encouraged wild and unfettered speculation to deflect attention away from their nest feathering operation. The loan as it turned out was for a new boardroom carpet, a giant 3 person heated slipper (with multi control) and 6 million paper clips for the office. Any remaining funds have been absorbed into the running of the club and have put us on a more stable footing for the immediate and foreseeable future, and our battle to lift the National League Championship next season.
