TOPIC: Thoughts on carlisle playing at Preston ?

Northern Echo trying to say we could play at Hartlepool as the 'Home' team. Reading it it's a made up story!

If we were to play at St James park it's probably the one chance we'd have to get a higher than expected gate. We also didn't do badly last time we played at a big stadium or indeed when we were outnumbered by Hartlepool fans earlier on this season. I'd be all for it.

I too am of the opinion that more harm would be done to our prospects for the season by postponing games, get the impression that the Club seem to think that's the case too. I think Hartlepool at SJP, Plymouth at Morecambe and Yeovil at Workington would be ideal.
Leave the York game alone for now got enough time to re-evaluate in due course depending on how BP is.

As half our town loves Newcastle chances are we would take a massive following to sjp. We took nearly 10000 to sunderland last time we played them so who knows how many we could take and whether it being a Normal league two game would put of a lot off . Be great for both clubs to play there the potential for a big crowd is there.

In 2005/06 when we were in 5th place in League 2 we got 11,182 against Darlington on Boxing Day and that was with Darlington only bringing 700. We had 38 points after 23 matches that season so aren't too far off achieving that. Newcastle is the logical choice and would be an opportunity for both teams to get some wannabe geordie loving fans there. Knowing our lot we will end up playing at Morecambe with 6000 capacity when there is obviously an opportunity to get a big crowd.

Surely we must try to play as many matches as possible on their current dates. A fixture pile-up is likely anyway with the weather, and of course as we progress to the SF of the FA Cup that is another 5 games to rearrange.
Playing at Preston or Newcastle will surely attract some of their fans hence I expect gates to be at least as good as at BP
However I would prefer to play at QoS cos their artificial pitch is much better for teams that play a passing game, but I presume there are FL regs which prevent that

Which section of deepdale will be the paddock? Cant have happy clappers and whingers unsegregated.

I think we could get the entire crowd in the small 4000 seater stand including away fans and segragation!
