Hmmm.

If I had a small business serving Government contracts I don't think I would rush to vote for the party that is slashing Department budgets. If Corbyn is so bad at managing the economy then surely this business is in the right place to reap the reward, he should be on the street with a vote Labour placard

Another little gem hidden away in the Labour Manifesto, just hope you haven't got a big garden:

"A Labour government will give local
government extra funding next year.
We will initiate a review into
reforming council tax and business
rates and consider new options
such as a land value tax, to ensure
local government has sustainable
funding for the long term."

If you knew which area of public contracts he is in then you'd appreciate that there is no way that budget is getting cut.

Marko,

Time to deal with your Trident Agenda.

Given the Jocks have little to offer other than some tax revenue from Oil and Whiskey, Trident is the only ace in the pack as you know.

The Scottish oil hole is running out, and despite the rhetoric, once the West has dealt with the mad Mullahs, the world oil price will fall further as more production comes on tap.

Scotch is a great brand, however it is fairly easy to replicate elsewhere, and given Scottish growing conditions, probably better.

So, in reality Mr Salmond doesn't really have allot in his locker, other than Trident.

Trident is his only negotiating tool.

Glad to hear business is booming. The benefits of having a proactive, innovative Government that thinks about the welfare of its citizens was always going to reap rewards for all sectors of the population. Makes much more cheerful reading than the austerity cuts and failure to protect citizens we see in the rather depressing news from our cousins in the south.

The weak pound will obviously help the tourist industry along with any export industry. I think Brexit is brilliant. Edinburgh is the second largest financial centre in the EU, more money is invested through Edinburgh than Frankfurt. When Brexit comes England will lose the EU banking license passport so all the banks will need as a minimum rep offices with banking licences in an EU country. The easiest option will be Edinburgh. Political noise against Brexit is being made but the chaos morons like Boris Johnson will bring, will create opportunities. Everything is going according to plan at the moment

Laffy, in response to your quandary about Denmark with its high tax and high happiness (I know it was a few pages back).

It seems it's a running theme across Scandinavia.

It's because they don't have an ingrained "greed is good" mantra unlike most of the West.

The rich and better off in their country see it as a thing to be proud of that thanks to their success they can help society as a whole, as being part of that society has helped them get where they are.

It seems that sometimes nations run on socialist lines can occasionally be successful.

Whatever walk of life you come from, if you come into money then you want to pay as little tax as possible - it is just how it is, it isn't any different from people earning high money like Richard Branson down to the minimum wage workers.

It is all very well for people with no money screaming about these greedy gets avoiding tax then when they get money they then become the greedy get themselves and their principles are thrown right out of the window.

Marko, Luxembourg is probably even bigger than London as a centre for investment. More money is probably invested through the Isle of Man or Guernsey than through Frankfurt - probably because Luxembourg is the preferred option on the continent.

Vote Tory, urge newspapers owned by billionaire tax avoiders

Rupert murdoch urging people to vote Tory
The Sun, Daily Mail and Express have urged their readers to vote Conservative in the upcoming general election in a selfless bid to protect their owners’ vast wealth.

Linking Jeremy Corbyn to Islamist extremism, The Sun tells everyone to ‘Make sure you vote for the Tories’, which confused its readers who had been planning to vote Conservative.

The Daily Mail uses its front page to implore the nation to ‘vote to save Britain’ and accuses Mr Corbyn of ‘Befriending Britain’s enemies, which in this case are terrorists, not, as they’d previously stated, the British judiciary.

The Express warns ‘Vote for Theresa May, or we face disaster’ as it links the Labour Party to an icy polar blast that will send temperatures plummeting to -1000 °C for a period of a million years.

Voter Simon Williams revealed he was delighted that the newspapers were packed with helpful advice.

“I’m not interested in politics because it doesn’t really affect me,” he said.

“But if I can do my bit to ensure we have strong and stable leadership then I’m happy to do my bit.”

I think, therefore I am (not a Daily Mail reader)

Let's get back to Trident, given the Independence agenda has gone down like a lead balloon and Nicola is going to pay a very dear price tomorrow, with predictions of a Tory surge. All of a sudden Trident has lost it's appeal. No need to lick the Ruskies anymore for long-term investment, and of course Mr Trump is up Teressa's jeer.

What next, an Independent Strathclyde Region led by President Sturgeon ?

I think there is a growing movement for major issues like security and the NHS to be non political, with a cross party consensus.

All for it in my view.

We can learn a lot from football. Every time the leader changes we go back to square one, both parties scrap what the previous had built and we move backwards rather than forwards.

So, it's onward and upward, or crash and burn day.
The die is cast for a return of the Tories, the optimistic Labour members hoping for a hung Parliament, one thing for sure, whoever gets in has a tough task ahead. I am strongly of the view, that Brexit will mean things get worse to get better, but long-term a bright future for our young people.
I do not want Corbyn, it is a shame Labour didn't have a better leader and front bench, they have made it easy for feckless opponents.
Brexit throws up further opportunities, for local devolution, the Central everything has failed, especially in the supply chain - to many rules and regulations driven by Unions and Brussels.
The Big House in London desperately needs reform, transparency and credibility, it has turned into a National Old Boys Club full of lying baxxards !!
Politics is a sxxt game that attracts sxxt people, who then go on to be even bigger sxxts in the Lords.
The wealthy rule the World, the only places there is war is where they don't, that is unlikely to change anytime soon - most of them are hypocrites of the worst form.
Modern Unions need reformed, from being personal dynasties with an overriding political agenda, to return to what they were intended for.

.....and footy is fxxked and corrupt for now, better times ahead. The FIFA effect has to trickle down yet.............
