Was it not Adams first and Devitt third highest assists that year?

Wouldn't it be nice if our trust could raise those sort of funds for the manager or even for the fans benefit

carwash wrote: I think a lot of the board's hostility to longer term contracts comes from the serious injuries to Jason Kennedy and Nicky Adams. Jenkins got a huge shock from having to pay Kennedy's high wages and rehab/physio bills for over a year with no return. Holdsworth would be pushing at an open door if he wanted to pursue a policy of maximum 1 year contracts. However this doesn't reflect players' actual injury records. Devitt doesn't put himself in the same situations to get injured like Nicky Adams did from clumsy defenders. I understand the need for a firm policy on contracts but a bit of flexibility around the edges can't do much harm.

You never know, NC certainly reads this, do not be surprised that JD gets the extra year, then the interview will come out that they were always going to offer it!

1 year contracts and getting any cheap Scottish player from cabbage leagues and conference players. Silly PR shots, that people fall for, by putting in stupid offers for Yates etc.
Carlisle United is better than this, but as per usual we just bounce along just about surviving in this poxy league year after year.

Really? I know he was poor at Carlisle, but Beckford was a premier league striker after all, and at one of your lots teams. Not quite a top striker, but 10 goals in the top league.cufcmike wrote: Even when Beckford was in his prime he was massively overrated. He'd need 5 or 6 good chances before scoring.

Looking like MRF and Pacirv are trying to cement their places on the bench.

Surely that is the whole point in having the bloke from the Milk Tray advert as Director of Football - it gives continuity beyond the life spell of the manager.

I could have believed that under Curle but not Pressley.
I was told on very good authority that Curle had it in his contract that no player would be on longer deals than him and NO player was paid more than him. Pressley I understand is a lot more flexible on this kind of thing, and as long as he gets the players he needs/wants then will settle for what they are offered.
And if true, then its going to be interesting how long Pressley will put up with this nonsense.

Credit to any person that can dictate this to their boss.
There is probably a hit of truth to it with a bit of 'myth' thrown in

Credit = Yes
Madness = Yes, But I can understand that from Curle, he seemed to be a bit like Sol Campbell, ie' though he was a lot better than he actually was, and our board were/are stupid enough to agree to it.
