I would imagine Elvis has already been on the phone to Sheff Utd so hopefully we'll see Slater and Thomas back for next season at relatively little outlay. Have they got anyone else we might take? Is there a limit on the number of players we can loan from 1 club? Ben Heneghan was at Blackpool, any chance of him dropping down for guaranteed football?

Edited to add that Adam Jackson has been released by Barnsley, he played well for Hartlepool when Thomas was there, centre back.

Well you would think Sheff U are pleased with what we have done last season. They must be concentrating on the 1st 11 after their promotion so sending out Thomas, Slater +2 to us sounds like an easy option and with the money they have coming in taking a hit of a grand a week isn't going to register financially.Anyone seen any of their reserve players we could use?

Northampton Town have signed Stockport attacking midfielder Matty Warburton on a two-year deal.
Warburton scored 27 goals as County won the National League North title this season.
The 26-year-old can play as a centre-forward or in a number 10 role and will officially join on 1 July.
Cobblers manager Keith Curle said he is "technically a very good and skilled player" with "quality set play delivery and a first class attitude".
"We have done our homework on his character and we believe we are signing a player with a massive desire and hunger to do well in the EFL," Curle told the club website

As a 34 year old goalkeeper at a 4th division club what is he expecting? I assume he wants a move closer to his home and business. I would wonder how profitable teaching 10 year olds is

And the club aren’t helping themselves by agreeing to renegotiate- what’s the point in having any such triggers, extensions etc if the player concerned can later claim they’re not good enough. Hope and Etuhu could be knocking on Holdsworth’s door for more money next

Anyone can knock at any time now can’t they?. Decent keeper but if he’s wanting a fortune I can’t see him being too difficult to replace and that’s assuming someone else wants to pay him it.

After a career break to clear my head I’m back to give you a couple ‘you heard it here first’ rumours. I have had it on good authority we will be signing jack Clarke on loan from Leeds should they go up to the premiership. We have also tabled a contract offer to Mark Cullen.

Was excellent in last few games especially. God knows what the scores would have been in the Bury, Lincoln and Crawley games (and even Yeovil) if he hadn't pulled off some great saves.

I remember Holdsworth saying in the media that 2 year+ deals are in the past. I was hoping he meant incoming players, not out of contract established key players. Very disappointing. Devitt has a young family so not a secure future playing one season to the next. A rolling contract should be offered at least.

A 1 year contract is an insult - just another way of saying we don't want you here but we have to make out we tried - exactly like Adams.
