Lake District 4 passes Challenge.
As tough an event as I've ever done 19 miles with 4 high level Lake District passes to negate Styhead, Black Sail, Scarth Gap and Honister being a Brutal finale.
A superb well organised event will be back next year.

Helvellyn from Wythburn down Swirral Edge and Up Striding Edge.
A stiff cool breeze and slippery damp rock made it at bit trickier than normal.
My youngests first go on the Edges he loved it
Not as good a day weather-wise as you Yorkie mind.

Not been so well past few months so great to see the photos on here of people out on the fells – a real tonic. On the mend again so managed to get a good few walks in recently.
First two are on Graystones above Lorton. Not an area I know well but very beautiful and very quiet. The photos show the Vale of Lorton and the Loweswater Fells and then Whinlatter and some of the Grasmoor group.
A really lovely spot, not a soul about really and a good area to wander about in the shorter days. I had a walk across to Broom Fell and Lords seat. Grassy easy walking and so peaceful.
Next 6 are from Borrowdale and a walk from Rosthwaite up onto Eagle Crag, then onto Seargant’s Crag and back around to Stonethwaite by Greenup Edge.
What a fantastic walk this was. Beautiful valley walking to begin with great views of Borrowdale and Langstrathdale when on top with a nice little scramble up through the rock on Eagle Crag.
As the days shorten I think the walk along Greenup Edge from Stonethwaite through to Grasmere would be a nice lower level walk.
Second from last is from Ling Fell looking across Sale Fell, Bassenthwaite and the Northern Fells. Such an easy walk and went up with my daughter.
Last 1 is from the Skiddaw foothills, coming down off the tops in the early evening.
Great to get out and about again and nothing quite like being in the hills.

Nice shots Ncf sorry to here you've been unwell but great to see your now putting the miles in .
How did you find Eagle Crag btw my first go went a tad wrong I headed too far left on way up and in ended up a very tricky painful Scramble lessons have been learnt since.

Funnily enough, Alan, I went wrong as well but even before that!
I crossed over Stonethwaite Beck and started walking on the path towards Langstrathdale before realising I'd gone too far.
It's not an obvious path up to the crag so easily missed.
If you follow the drystone wall up after you've crossed the beck - it's almost opposite the sheepfolds on the other side of the beck. Hopefully the photo makes it clear looking back down towards the beck.
It was blowing a gale on the top so I tried to get down through the rock for some shelter and you do have to be careful - a bit hairy in places with a bit of exposure. Quite a good scramble going up but not easy going down.

A few pics from a wonderful few days out walking.
Met up with some friends on their last day of walking the Dales Way, walking from Kendal to Bowness.
Nice easy walking, about 10 miles, I think.
Particularly nice walking along the River Kent around Burneside and Staveley and then as you get onto some higher ground and can see Lakeland ahead of you.
I forgot my camera for this but have put a few up of some beautiful walks in the Northern Fells.
Mainly, it belted down incessantly but what better place to be even on miserable days? When the clouds do clear you see glimpses of heaven.
Spent 2 days walking along and above the Wythop valley. A beautiful place, just off the A66 yet a world away from all the worries of life. Been doing a bit of walking around here recently and it's really lovely place. Not great heights but very peaceful.
The valley floor with it's wood, hidden chapel, wildlife and peace and quiet is a joy to wander around in.
Above the valley, on Sale, Broom Fell, Lords Seat, Barf or on Ling Fell gets you into the clouds with wonderful views and vistas when the rain does ease!
Particularly on Broom Fell the views across to the Loweswater fells are stunning and from Lords Seat there's a good view down across Barf and up to Skiddaw.
Ling Fell and Sale Fell are particularly good places to be if you are short of time and you can be on the tops in 30-45 mins.

Great shots NCF you really are enjoying our fine county and what's not to like.

that area of the Lakes is superb and still a bit of a hidden gem, have you done Low Fell Ncf? has one of the best views around one of my after work go to fells in the summer months followed by a swift pint of gold from Kirkstile afterwards.
Wishing I could get out be still struggling after a bout of flu I got 4 weeks ago missing Great Gable remembrance this Sunday too.
Looking at next week for starting to build milage up again.
