The Independent is a former Green.

The simple fact is that with NS an SNP sitting First Minister, the 4 SNP members of this panel would certainly have been fully expected to vote in her favour. The question was, how many of the others would find in her favour? The answer - none..

Quite telling that..

The four SNP's who voted for her simply confirms the party is rotten to the core, they themselves should be disciplined.

50 times Knickerless failed to "recollect" during the hearing, and they still want her as First Minister.

The old perve will still have a card or two to play yet.

I’m not disputing their findings, I believe them to be accurate. In this case it’s likely the SNP who are putting party before country - but we’ve seen this from all angles of the political spectrum in the UK lately.

What makes it worse for sturgeon though is that she acts holier-than-thou and constantly carps on about the SNP having better standards than other parties - this is why she chucked that MP under the bus for taking a train ride while riddled with COVID. Johnson on the other hand doesn't pretend to give a shit about the morality of his chums behaviour - hence backing Dom and Priti even when they're clearly sociopathic wrong 'uns

This has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else or party, simply Sturgeon and the SNP. Simply by mentioning anyone else, is exactly what they want you to do.

My worry is that she survives this. How does it go... ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’?

I mean, they have to be fair, she only failed to recollect at the hearing 50 times !!

Big mistake calling for this vote imo - her (comfortable) survival merely serves to make her look stronger in the build up to the elections...

It shows that Scottish Labour, Lib Dems and Greens are all wimps!

If everyone is serious about getting her out, they’d leave the Scottish Labour fella to go H2H with Sturgeon in the Southside seat by withdrawing the other candidates, now that would be worth following...

I’d argue it shows the Scottish Conservatives are a tad naive. Surely they remember what happened when a similar vote was triggered in Westminster not so long ago? Such mechanisms should only be used when there is a very strong chance of their success, otherwise they are nothing more than grandstanding.

I’d love to see the opposition parties throw their weight behind a single candidate, but I don’t see that happening - and even if it did, imagine what it would do for her if she were to win (which she likely would, albeit with a reduced margin)...

If the conscience of the other parties won't allow a vote of no confidence now, they never will. Nickerlss has gone Trumpesque.......

It looks like Independence will have it's day, and I hope they get it asap.

Sly Fox move, the Alba Party are not going to fight the SNP, but may get the votes of those who are pxxed off with the whole shinanigans and the SNP.

But, he is a slippery as they come, Once in the House, he will be after them like a dog with a bone.

The scottish elections give you two votes, like a half-arsed PR, one for a first-past-the-post constituency and the other for a list MSP for a region (mine will be Lothians)

List MSPS are allocated with some system that means parties who win a lot of constituency votes don't get a lot of list votes regardless of how many vote for them on the list - (so a list vote for the snp doesn't count as much as they hoover up the constituency seats)

This is meant to game the system for the independence movement as ALBA will have no constituency seats and thus no penalty applied to their list vote - but what it'll actually do is screw the greens, they're the list vote darlings for strategic independence types currently

With not knowing a great deal of what goes on in Scotland, I see the general picture as individuals who wish to go down in history as the person who made it happen and screw the consequences of what will happen, a bit like us and Brexit only we are capable with standing on our own two feet without crumbling yet I don't believe Scotland are.

Their objective is to Leech off the EU as without them their plan is a non starter, their healthcare and mail system for starters in such a rural country place the UK at a loss more than anything I would imagine so apart from their oil and gas which will be fought over they aren't that much of a catch unless you frack the place senseless.

Either way the Scottish people I believe will be the losers for I don't know how many generations, they might hate us but they don't mind flocking down here for jobs when it suits (I know orfc went the other way but he will be in a minority and may work for a UK company anyway).

They had their once in a lifetime vote but like Brexit they want to keep voting until individuals get what they want, then there is the matter of a border and he likes, Sturgeon will turn the Scottish people into a needy country begging for handouts and will be wanting our help before long whereas we wont need them for anything.

They have less taxpayers than Yorkshire, and they are going to run a Country infrastructure, education and health system, defense, social services and community services.

Neither do they have the highly educated, high income, high tax paying people like Denmark.

But, if they want independence, then let them, that is what democracy is for.

The media over here is so pathetic and biased it is unreal.

I kept seeing headlines that Spain were going to round up Brits and deport them.

The true story is that if you are not registered in Spain then you have no right to be there after a certain date and are classed as an illegal immigrant.

There are thousands living in Spain and registered and this is not an issue, sounds to me that the only ones that are in bother are those that are either in hiding there, don't know the rules, just flaunting the rules or are having trouble with your paperwork - the old leave it till the last minute mob who then start crying when they hit a issue that holds it up.

Technically it is a 'non story' that has been sensationalised as usual to fool people into click bait, you could change Spain to just about any other EU country and go again with the story.

I think Trump used to call it Fake News.

There must be hundreds of British gangsters and other criminals living on the Costa del Sol who haven't bothered registering and who could be deported. Someone will be on a nice little earner getting them all Irish passports.

I think at first generally with us leaving the EU it will be all softly softly and trying not to offend anyone.

Five years down the line I reckon they will be kicking out terrorists and sex offenders left right and centre, the EU will kick up and we will say screw you.

It will only take for a few other disgruntled EU nations to say 'that is what we should be doing' to cause a bit of unrest and get the ball rolling, it the UK is seen to be doing well post being in the EU then envy will set in and you will get the odd country trying to pal up with us knowing that we have trade deals in place and their own exit from the EU could be swift and beneficial to themselves.

The EU wants countries to feel like they 'need' them and for a while the UK was fooled by this too.

When you think of it also, foreign travel being hit by not being in the EU and the passport hassle will mean very little to a lot of people, fewer now that money is more scarce with the job situation will be going abroad anyway, then people will give little sympathy to those moaning about having to go to Peterborough, Liverpool or wherever it is you have to go now to sort your passport quickly 'ooh its a hassle for them having to get their passport sorted so they can jet off for a fortnight in the sun, alright for some' etc.

Surprised Marko hasn't been bleating on about how these figures have been fiddled.
