Football’s just not helping itself, it’s bad enough that players and clubs are abusing their position, but when managers like Moyes and Guardiola are defending their players for breaking the rules it beggars belief, the arrogance is astounding.

Yes it’s a shame that the likes of Crawley and Chorley aren’t allowed to celebrate some of the clubs greatest achievements but it’s also a shame that people can’t leave the house, that people can’t see their families, that businesses are going bust and that people are dying.

If the streets were completely deserted and we were all literally staying indoors all day every day, I could understand it more.
This is a long way from being the case.
Lots of people are going out to do jobs that aren't vital to sustaining life. They are vital to peoples livelihoods and to the economy and provide goods and services that we all use.
I'm not saying that football is a top priority but it's not like we are only able to do completely vital things.

New EFL Chief has sent a letter out reminding Clubs etc how to behave:

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt says it is "morally wrong" for football to continue while Covid-19 lockdown restrictions are in place.

No money coming in, loans now offered instead of grants and wouldn’t have started if this was the case. Sames happening In the EFL, clubs took all tv money early, pl money not covering much and loans being offered.

Wrong: I said Covid was very dangerous to a proportion of people and that deaths weren’t particularly different to other years.

It’s a reason for cancellation, if we are all told to stop in to save our families watching footballers celebrate/hugging in a small room is morally wrong. People pick up on these things and say if those are doing it why can’t I.

I’m going if official advice, not necessarily full personal opinion, that the virus is dangerous/spreading etc and the cases amongst footballers is high. I can’t support football continuing in that case as there’s a high chance of passing it in the family.

However I’ve said numerous times my main reason for cancelling is financial. How can clubs carry on losing £1 million. Little support 31p in the £.

They had options to take a loan or suspend the season. seems to be split and some clubs now refusing to carry on.

Clubs started the season on the expectation they’d be bailed out, they were for a set period, but it wasn’t the full amount promised and as they expect red supporters in by now clubs are in trouble again.

Problem with loans, they need paid back and that may be in full if you’re promoted or relegated out of the national league system.

Monies the big problem here, it’ll hit the EFL soon.

The post was about the conference Crunch, but I’ll ask you a question where’s the money coming from?

I’ve attached a statement from conference north sides, in dire straights if the season continues. Safety obviously an issue but costs of tests etc an issue. If it continues there’ll be insolvent kaboom gone!

The issue just doesn’t affect them though, sides in the conference are up shit creek as well Yeovil, Barnet, Dover and Woking are all under threat. It’s ok though as it doesn’t affect Carlisle United.

But remember, it wasn’t that long ago that we were in that league.

It’s the biggest crisis football, lower league, has ever seen and I don’t think people get it yet. The issues will hit EFL clubs soon as well. Maybe not yet as they’ve been given advances on loans. But it’ll hit.

It was crazy to start up again, lower leagues, but the thought was supporters would be in by now. I’m not even sure supporters will be in by August now. For god sake suspend the season, furlough instead of risking it, the EFL, for short term TV money.

Nahhhhhhhhhh, I can see the conference premier doing the same but not L1/2

The trouble the conference leagues have is they haven't completed enough games so far, they're well behind schedule and no clear way of catching up - in the conference premier the average is only 15 games played - that leaves 29 to fit it - they'd need 15 weeks of weekend/midweek games to do it. Dover have 32 left to play!

In league 2 the clubs with the least amount of games left include us on 21, with 25 left to play - most are halfway through the season on 23 which isn't far off schedule

The DCMS won’t stump up more cash and the national league won’t take on the loan and dish out grants to its members as it can’t afford too.

Can’t see many clubs surviving even if it is suspended now. Only saving grace is a government grant but I don’t think they will.
