Another sentence at the end might have been good.

"until that is received we have decided to suspend Mr Bell as VP of Carlisle United Football Club and to discontinue any business relationships with any of his companies".

He's as bad as Nixon and Jenkins, insulting the intelligence of the fan base by telling blatant lies. Absolute f*cking ar*ehole. How has someone that f*cking thick made so much money.

Wouldnt surprise me if he created "fake proof" that it was hacked? I.e mock up a screen print of an email from Twitter "confirming" that his account was breached and they are looking into it further blah blah.

Easy enough to do. I think that will be the next card he plays.

Bell = Idiot... Yet another blunder comment(s) from him. He should resign from his position as a vice President. If not The reluctant custodians should relieve him from whatever duties he does.

I've been wondering for a while what it would take for the BOD to leave the club.

That club statement might set the ball rolling.

It would be totally unbelievable for a club to just fob this off with a blatant lie.... Except at Carlisle.... I personally thought something might have happened this time... But still the statement hasn't surprised me in the slightest

Absolutely pathetic from the club. Thinking supporters are stupid enough to swallow this sh*te. They hate us. If they cared a jot for us or the image of the club they would be cutting all ties with him until legitimate proof was received that it wasn't him.

Until I see someone found guilty in court of hacking his account I will never believe him.

Yep, and twitter are very quick at providing the info.

I'd of believed his account he was hacked if other posts he makes weren't dodgy, like saying all muslims are terrorists.

Bloke should publish this Twitter report in the Cumberland News with a full explanation.

Pivotal moment for Carlisle United this. Meaningless match Saturday as well, probably time to do something finally.

Wondered if this fella has drug issues reading some of his tweets.

It would be very interesting if one of the national newspapers just decided to have a little sniff around now they've seen this despicable individual connected to our club. It might actually be worth their while to have a little look and see what else has gone on here. It might seem to be a coincidence to them that social media accounts for two directors have been hacked in such a short space of time. It might be of interest to them that Bell instigated the whole billionaire lie. They might even find stuff about how Claire was treated and the contempt the owners hold the rest of us in.

Maybe, even though what he has done is an utter disgrace, if some decent news reporter gets a grip of it, he might end up having done us all a favour.

My Advice to Andy "Mr Bigbollocks Bell" is if you believe your account was hacked or whatever go to the police and report it as a crime.

And then when their investigation is complete publish the details The investigation that Twitter will undertake means nothing all it will confirm is that the activity on the account may have been instigated from a device not normally associated with that Twitter account and the location it was used from etc in other words he himself could have done it from a payg mobile or from a friends phone.

Thats the end of it as far as Twitter is concerned, a police investigation would look into who actually used the other device, when and where from in other words if had been done at 2pm via a tower in London and Bell could prove he was in Carlisle at the time the case against him starts to look a little weaker.

As far as i.m concerned until he does this hes guilty as sin and the first thing that should happen is the players take things into their own hands and get the Gaffa tape out on Saturday

I think it will come out it was done on one of his devices, and he will then argue he'd left it logged in (at work?) and someone else did it, thus trying to squirm our of it. Rather than actual 'hacking'.

When your password is compromised it's usually the case that loads of spam links are posted automatically from your account or directly to other contacts rather than someone actually doing what's been done. What a shocking embarrassment to bring on the club.

Very unfortunate indeed to be "hacked" by an opportunist with the expertise to exactly mimic your usual written tone, style and manner of expression.

The consistency with his previous tweets on other subjects is remarkable.

I'm sure some sort of linguistic profiling can be done to ascertain a probability as to whether written communications were sent by the same person.

Typical of the club to say any further comments will come from Mr Bell in other words we don't want to talk about it so were not going to as usual, I just hope they are holding on tight as it's going to be a rough ride, they wont be able to just sweep this under the carpet... Outcry is a good word the TV people will love a story like this too it's all going to come out in the wash and he will look so much worse when they find out he's lying as they will. Isn't trolling an offence now ?

If you go to Settings -> Your Twitter Data, it shows a history of logins, including the device type, the date/time, and the IP address, plus country. That would have been the first place to start. Don't suppose it's so easy now the account has been deleted.

Not a proper comparison, but when I was at Uni we used to hack each others facebook/twitter accounts all the time, typically people would notice within about 10 minutes.

Back to this point, someone did manage to get a screenshot of his full timeline when it happened, albeit it only features standalone tweets and not replies:

Looking at that, he posts a fairly standard tweet about betting and bookies 45 mins or so before the offending ones. Which places the EU one before it. It's one hell of a sophisticated hacker!

Not looking good, is it?

THEBIGBLUE/NORTHERNSOUL apparently had his CUFC Online account hacked eleven years ago after the first floods when that account posted a derogatory comment about an old woman, so he should be able to give an expert opinion on it.

Between the Human rights- Leave the EU tweet to the anti-Hillsborough tweets was about 1 1/2 hrs. IF he was hacked how would he not have realised in that time ?

Not a proper comparison, but when I was at Uni we used to hack each others facebook/twitter accounts all the time, typically people would notice within about 10 minutes.

Back to this point, someone did manage to get a screenshot of his full timeline when it happened, albeit it only features standalone tweets and not replies:

Looking at that, he posts a fairly standard tweet about betting and bookies 45 mins or so before the offending ones. Which places the EU one before it. It's one hell of a sophisticated hacker!

Not looking good, is it?

No, it isn't - This is what i was meaning re the other dodgy tweets it doesn't make any sense!

They have had it too easy for too long riding roughshod over what seemed like at times Jon Coleman's single man assault on the Brunton Park towers, the only possible good that can come out of this is the fact that it's another crack in the foundations of the rampart walls of fortress Brunton, the more media spotlight and interest on the three amigos may be enough to make them actually look out of the bunker window. Quite sadly though it is the fact the clubs reputation will be dragged through the mud yet again by the hierarchy of the club, the name Andy Bell will be forgotten far sooner than the clubs name and the fans will be tarnished by some because of the clubs association with the whole event.

Bell has released a statement, via BBC Cumbria Sport on twitter. I am on my phone so can't post it, but in a nutshell, he reminds us all that he's given a lot of money to the club, and that deleting his twitter account is about as far a punishment as this needs.

This is just it! How arrogant can someone be! I've thrown some money at a club therefore whilst representing it I can say what I want! Keep your money 96 people died! 96! someone said he should donate £9,600! That'll do nothing the damage has been done! His actions are disgraceful! He is a disgraceful human being! The sad thing is I always wait for some controversy when something big like this happens.... I remember someone stupidly making a "joke" about Derek Bird very soon after what had happened but to her this from someone like Bell in a position he's in is utterly despicable!

I'm so disillusioned supporting this club and I try and try every week to remember falling in love with the game at Brunton Park but now I couldn't give a sh1t! And that's awful to say but the clubs an absolute joke..... One thing after another. I will never introduce my son to this disgraceful outfit until they've left! By the way Mr Bell there were children killed that day younger than my own! F*cking idiot!

The "i have put a lot of money into the club" comment is a disgrace.

Hope he is forced out and told his sponsorship is not welcome. I cant see it somehow.

A fake Twitter profile was made regarding myself and I think I actually asked for advice on here.

I managed to get it sorted and they sent me proof of which address it came from etc.

If I had been hacked and accused of this I would be banging on every door possible trying to get the proof that it wasn't me, who wants to be tarred with this.

Never know, this may happen.

Lummy, what kind time timescale was it before Twitter provided evidence and what did they provide? was it just an I.P address or did they provide more information on where it originated from?

The whole thing is a very sorry affair. The resignation of Claire, the attitude of the Chairman, the ' hacked twitter account(s), the damage limitation. Imagine what it must be like to work for these people.

One thing is for sure, despite what people say in public, this is terribly de-motivating, be prepared for resignations from other staff members as there cringe-worthy employer sinks to new depths.

However, they do say innocent until proven guilty, so we await the proof either way.

Home and away games all over the country in various comp, club shop merchandise and shirts, beer money (for medicinal purposes) and ticket money, add this together for a fan since the seventies and there's a few of them out there, by percentage of income there's people who have put far more into the club than him who aren't disgracing the club. The fact he would even consider mentioning it shows us all we need to know.
