The club should make a stand and cut all ties with Bell and his bookies.com shite.

Yeah we lose a bit of income but at least our club would restore a bit of dignity and we maybe just maybe wont be hated nationwide once this morons actions go national.

Not a proper comparison, but when I was at Uni we used to hack each others facebook/twitter accounts all the time, typically people would notice within about 10 minutes.

Can you be clear about what you mean by hack? Do you mean nicking someone's phone and posting? Or getting their password and logging in? Or actually hacking into Twitter?

Interested in how hard it is for someone to do.

Was wondering about the time difference between the EU tweet and the "Stadium disaster not your fault?" post. Good spot Deckchairblue - clearly a very sophisticated hacker at work here! :)

Hacking into Twitter is pretty difficult for your average pranking "hacker" - besides, if you were going to hack a Twitter account, would you choose a politician or famous celebrity, or an online bookmaker site owner who is VP at a lower league football club?

It's possible, but unlikely, that someone may have guessed his password. Would have to be something pretty obvious and with bookies.com social media presence etc, I'd say it's unlikely.

The only other alternative would be "phishing" - where you're trick into entering your login and password details on a "fake" version of a site, which then takes the details, logs in and starts posting through a bot on your site. But those bots generally link to pages telling you how to earn $500 a day from home, cheap Ray Bans and sex webcams. Not controversial posts about the big current affairs news story of the day.

Yeah none of it was high level stuff. Using others phones/laptops when not being used (isn't that what SP claimed happened to him ?) Or guessing someone's password which can be surprisingly easy to do.

Incredible that not one, but two, very senior and well-respected figures at our club both get their phones hacked within a few months of each other

Andy Bell may have made a few quid but are we really that bereft of class and integrity that we'd back him and keep taking his money rather than do the decent thing and give him an opportunity away from his bought VP position to prove his brains aren't actually made of mince when it comes to social media and keeping his toxic opinions to himself instead?

Andy Bell. [censored] off you [censored]. I'll be fuming if the club just brush this off in the same way that they did Steve Patt's Keith Agar tweets.

If it's a slow news today tomorrow this might get picked up by quite a lot of the media.

How many club owners are there who would just stick their necks in the sand and ignore this? There can't be many. Let's see what our BOD do.

Edited to say it looks like we will make one or two national papers... www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/sick-hills...sted-twitter-7841695

Although Carlisle have had a lot of positive media this season... the fact that a vice-president has said something or in this case tweeted something disgraceful next to a photo of the clubs crest... then made a truly unconvincing claim about being hacked... and then his claim being immediately supported by a club spokesman... I'm sure none of that has come as a surprise to many people on here. It doesn't make me any less livid though.

If the club end up cutting ties with him and his businesses, which presumably most other clubs would do, I hope someone in the media can manage to get him to clarify his earlier Billionaire Comment.

Could really hurt him this, firms could drop their contracts with him etc... Maybe a bit ott but one thing Liverpool have proven is they stick together - few accounts being closed because of this will easily see firms stopping advertising through his channels.

What a clown. Sharp reminder to folk who write controversial stuff on the net, especially those with their own business, that you could really damage yourself with a short period of typing.

The offensive tweet was not surprising - we all do very stupid things from time to time - the important thing is how we apologise and put things right. Andy Bell should have owned up straight away, said he was incredibly stupid retweeting something without thinking and said he would give £9,600 to the official Hillsborough charity. All blown over in 24 hours.

CUOSC if they had any balls should now say that they will recommend that no-one buys a club shirt next season if the bookies.com logo is on it. The club can take Andy Bell's money if they want but they will lose a fortune in shirt sales.

After Claire's unfortunate run before she was sacked, I find it sickening that the club have just accepted this version from Andy bellend. Who would know his password and do such a thing? His wife wouldn't (unless she hates him) who else would bother getting login details of a Vice President of a two Bob mob low league football team, after being hacked previously this season, even with the pro thatcher propaganda he has spoken of for some time on Twitter

How did it take him 10 minutes to realise he'd been hacked, a further 10 minutes to post the stupid picture of Liam neeson, then an hour later finally announcing that he'd been 'hacked'
Surely, saying you'd been hacked and distancing yourself from previous comments as soon as possible would have been of paramount importance

Trouble is MRF I don't know what the sponsorship contract says. It may be that the club has to declare that bookies.com has brought the club into disrepute before it can remove the logos otherwise the club would be breaching the sponsorship contract and could be sued by Andy Bell. In some ways it's better to put financial pressure on the club for next year by saying the fans don't want bookies.com as a shirt sponsor and the club risks being left with a huge pile of unsold shirts.

I have to say I'm disgusted by this, but not in any way shocked or surprised. Among the fans of the club it is already very well known that this excuse for a man is a liar and a complete dick head, so anything that appears on his social media accounts should not come as any sort of surprise to any of us.

There can be absolutely no doubt that this was him who posted those tweets, just look at the content and compare those messages with others he has written and you can clearly see it is him who has brought this shame onto our club. And it has brought shame onto the club, after all these disgraceful comments are posted next to a picture of our club crest. This abhorrent individual needs to be dealt with by the club right away, we must cut all ties with him completely, and if that means paying him his sponsorship money back, then so be it. Get the evil minded wanker out of the club right now, he has no place anywhere in football, let alone in our club.

Unfortunately everyone on here has seen the disgraceful standards shown by the owners and directors of this club over the last couple of years, and we all know this will be covered up by those money grubbing bastards who are in control of the club. Those people are as vile as Bell himself.

I agree completely Moorlad. And compare Bell with our FansRep. Claire decided that she should resign on principle. Bell lies himself into a corner and the Board back him up. Puts Claire's actions into perspective, doesn't it? And confirms that Bell and the three twats have no principles whatsoever.

Another utterly shambolic and disgraceful episode from within the club, it really is bad folks, you know I just feel that that we are on a slippery slope here, I sense many fans feel as I do, in that I am now almost embarrassed to be Carlisle fan and really just don't care anymore. I want to support a local club which is respected within the community, gives local people pride and enjoyment and strives to be as successful and innovative as possible. Instead we have these morons who appear hell bent on achieving the exact opposite.

There is no better feeling then discussing the career you had in football and mentioning the period I played for Carlisle, people within the game saying you lot had a great team then and the crowd were intimidating, what a club!

Sadly I have to say I don't really shout it from the roof tops as all I am asked about is Billionaires, swearing, phone hacks and now this tweet!

Whether he has been hacked or not, its just another thing to add to the list of crap tat has gone on for a few years now, as people have mentioned, I am also feeling a bit embarrassed. This is the straw that breaks the camels back for me.

I feel very sorry for the playing side of things and all the people in the offices and behind the scenes who work so hard and have so much to give, but run into something like this every couple of months!

Its a shambles, I hope a big stand is taken because this is just not on.

We used to be the club a hell of a lot of people thought well of on and off the pitch, at the minute, we are in big danger of becoming a total shambles.

Probably a bit of everything put together Griff, just feel drained by it all now, like I feel I wish I didn't give a s*** as much as I do.

As much as the board are not everyone's cup of tea, they could not control the tweet, but they can certainly have an internal investigation and find out the truth, I'm sure Andy would want that to if it clears his name. They need to be doing more than distance themselves, I ope this is what they re on with today.

Just an insight to what I feel would have happened in my dressing room, I know times have changed now, but we had liverpudlians in our squad and characters that would be sick of all these things going on that we would demand a meeting with them regarding this. I feel for the team, because they go in and work hard everyday and things like this keep supporters away, and its not through the teams performance at times.

thing is we say things on radio, supporters do get angry, but in the end it all dies down and we get on with it and accept it, myself included. What will be the difference this time?

Right, now we even have very highly respected former players ashamed of the way the club is being run. A fella like Lummy, after what he did for this club, should never be made to feel embarrassed to talk about his time here.

These fools are destroying everything the club should stand for, there have been some appalling mistakes over the past couple of years, but I think this week has really just about topped the fucking lot. Firstly their shabby treatment of the only person on the club's board with any integrity, then those utterly disgusting tweets, followed by a bland club statement backing the idiot who posted them.

Bell has released a statement, via BBC Cumbria Sport on twitter. I am on my phone so can't post it, but in a nutshell, he reminds us all that he's given a lot of money to the club, and that deleting his twitter account is about as far a punishment as this needs.

And why is the amount of money he has put into the club relevant?

At first, Bell said he'd be speaking with Twitter, to ascertain IP addresses etc. No problem. Correct thing to do etc.

He then simply deleted his account.

Surely you'd keep it open until it had been investigated?!

I was hoping for your fans rep vote Lummy ;)

Seriously though, everyones right in that when an ex player has had enough and is being questioned on off the field stuff rather than his playing days or views of the current squad theres something seriously wrong.

Do i believe AB was hacked? not in the slightest, although all he needs to do is publish the twitter report that says your accounts been accessed by a different device. Easy to get but it wont happen as it didn't happen.

But its just the latest in a combination of everything that embarrasses the club.

A fake Twitter profile was made regarding myself and I think I actually asked for advice on here.

I managed to get it sorted and they sent me proof of which address it came from etc.

If I had been hacked and accused of this I would be banging on every door possible trying to get the proof that it wasn't me, who wants to be tarred with this.

Never know, this may happen.
