No Actually my account wasnt hacked as such

To put you right and stop your shit stirring Tash i.ll post exactly what happened.once again

Several of my accounts across a number of types of sites including my personal and company e mail accounts we accessed and posts etc made on them over a very short period of time by an employee i had just fired. He knew the word i used as my password on everything i did as it was him who introduced me to the online world a couple of years earlier.

I was quite open about it at the time and took action immediately to ensure there were no further incidents of the same sort

I have no beef with him over what he did after all i did remove a cherry picker and leave him on the roof of a 5 story pub near Wigan for 8 hours till the fire brigade rescued him.

I didnt have to get anybody to conduct any sort of investigation as hed texted me to tell me what hed done

End of story

Twitter will retain the login history even of a deactivated account. Just as the account will still exist in the background, surely it's a requirement for policing purposes.

Twitter keep a record of user data including account history. If it wasn't him then geolocation won't be hard for him to use to prove he wasn't in the same place as the tweet was sent from at the time it was sent.

I imagine he is probably hoping it all blows over, why would a hacker send tweets in the same style as the user? Unless it's somebody that has a personal grudge against him or the club. Given his previous tweeting history he's definitely said things before that were borderline bs and said to get a reaction.

I'd like to see him do an interview with Coleman providing concrete evidence that it was not him, given his profession im sure he will know someone who is very familiar with the Internet and how to get said evidence.

I get the impression theres previous between him and Jon Coleman somehow i dont think hes going to let it go that easy even if its just on Twitter as opposed to in the paper.

And i cant see Bookies.com being a major spender on advertising with CN

Just had a look at my own Twitter data page @ twitter.com/settings/your_twitter_data (as can anyone else for their accounts).

The IP addresses don't prove much really because they vary so much - I've got four different IP addresses for four different logins within an hour or two done via Twitter for Android. It also shows logins from various apps you might have installed, such as Banjo.

What the IP addresses do tell you if you use a look-up site is who the ISP is for it (for instance, Sky Broadband or Vodafone Mobile), but only the static broadband IP will give you an accurate Geolocation - the mobile operator ones don't (mine are saying London when it should be Liverpool, for instance).

It does however tell you which devices have been used to access your Twitter account. I only have two listed which I expected.

If he published the details from yesterday at the times the offending tweets were posted, we might have a better idea...

You can get correct geolocation from your mobile company if you were using mobile data. Although the typical user will connect to 3/4 masts per day it will be local masts. Normally a mast has 3 sectors split into another 3 sections so its very accurate. It will also have the time the phone connected to the mast and the time it disconnected along with the mast the phone next connected to. If somebody was let's say in town and connected to mobile data they could only be on a mast in the town center. Look at the time of the tweet, the device and ip/mast it was from and compare it to where the person in question was.

Unless somebody has connected to the same ip or mast using a proxy server its 100% factual data, but using a proxy server to connect to a certain mast is very difficult so I would rule that out even for this unusual hacker.

He certainly can't use that information to clear himself because it can't be falsified, unless it actually wasn't him. I also believe it was defiantly him who sent those tweets. It would be great if mast data could be gotten by a FOI request but as far as I'm aware providers only have to give that information to the police.

24 hours on and despite all the national attention he's still in the role.unbelievable.

Wouldn't have lasted another 24 minutes if his tweet had broken a 'confidentiality agreement' and told everyone what a shower of shite is running the club.

I suppose Jenkins and Nixon must feel that making light of the deaths of 96 people on the day their families got justice is ok, but giving the fans information on how the club is being run is not.

It's a complete disgrace and they should all be ashamed

Yes it is but while theyre willing to poke their noses into stuff online that shouldnt be any of their business people might as well get their moneys worth and use them to conduct investigations either to prove people who have wronged you as guilty or as in Bells case to prove yourself innocent of accusations made against you.

One thing i will say is if you get a local officer whos been trained and knows what hes doing you get a great service here in Lancashire in fact a much better one than that of the online reporting service who only seem interested in child porn and dating fraud issues.

So Bells distraught?. So he should be. Should get him on Jeremy Kyle show. Id give him about a 100/1 chance of passing the lie detector. But then of course its something hed be more than happy to do if his account did in fact get hacked.
Only 100/1?

Tweet Andy Bell, see if he can offer better odds.

Great article

I see that Colman has also posted instructions on how Bell could use Twitter info on how to clear his name.

If he doesnt do that soon and the club continue to accept his money and keep him in post then this has got to be their lowest act of their tenure.

I'm glad it's almost the end of the season. What those in charge have done (or mostly not done) generally leads to increasing apathy amongst the general fan base. This feels different and is not only making fans angry, but is dragging the name of the club through the mud by association.

If it's too much to hope for that the custodians finally step aside and let someone with some ambition take over, the least they can do is cut ties to Bell if he can't clear his name despite having the means to do so.

If not I think I'll just try and forget about CUFC for a while and see how I feel when next season comes around.

It seems to me that he was the one who sent the tweets but instead coming out and admitting it he's digging himself an even bigger hole by saying he was hacked the thick tw*t.

Any other club would've got rid by now.

He is a bookie so hardly likely to give true odds to me.

Why is he "distraught" I'd be angry, and i'd be fighting tooth and nail to prove my innocence, we are all waiting for your statement confirming you were hacked, and proving you were not to blame.

Agreed, if I had been hacked I would be distraught at the content yes, but I would not have been off the phone, internet or away from the police station until they cleared my name , and would be angry as hell until they did.

When someone made a fake account for me I had to prove who I was by emailing photographic ID and then my address etc. I think this may be a bit different but they came back to me with the actual address and device the account had been created and then logged in from and times. Therefore if something bad had been said (which it wasn't it was harmless to be fair) I could prove where I was at the time.

As I say I think this case is a bit different and sorry I don't really understand IP addresses etc!

I think we all know what has happened.......angry/embarrassed......disgraceful.

If he was innocent Lummy, this info would be publicized by him straight away surely.

It takes seconds to get the info.

Well this is it Mullen, you would think that.

On Look North yesterday the reporter on the sofa talking about it looked like he had pretty much made up his mind judging by the tone of the discussion, and it seems everyone else locally and nationally has made their mind up so even if not true the mud has stuck unfortunately.

Lummy, I realise you have to be a bit diplomatic in what you say about stuff concerning the club, its sponsors and its officials. Fortunately I don't have to, and I know that the reason he hasn't come up with anything proving it wasn't him is that he can't. The reason he can't is that he is a snivelling bigot who is not prepared to take the consequences of his actions, and as such he isn't prepared to apologise for what he has said. By being a worm, no, by being lower than a worm he has dragged the club into the mire that he has created, and because the owners of the club are sycophantic money grubbing toss bags it now looks as though all of us are kissing the arse of some ignorant filth.

Agree

The silence from him says it all - If i was being discussed in national papers and look north and it wasn't true i'd be making as much noise as possible and calling these papers and Look North making sure my side of the story was also publicized. The statement realised by him smells of guilt by bringing money and his kids into it.

But yes sadly its the supporters that suffer and the club as a whole that gets it!
