No Raynes in the 18? Assume a knock or ill? McKee back on the bench...

Edit: James Phillips says Raynes is ill, not sure he'd have caught Norovirus at the Infirmary mind as he suggested?!

Let's hope Ellis and Brisley can forge a partnership today.

Tough game, a point would be no disaster.

Thought that had slipped under the radar ;)

MG much better suited to CB, but I don't think Ellis at fullback would prove any better.

Tough game this one with the run they are on at the moment and our shoddy defending over the last coupe of months. Even before the match I'd have taken a draw.

Same old problem - we need to score a minimum of 3 goals to win a game. Strengthening the defence is an absolute must

Hardly a surprise - we've conceded 2 goals in a game again. Really need to get a grip on this defence as soon as possible - winning 3-2 is all well and good when you manage it but not many teams win leagues, or even get promotion, without a solid defence.

Just looked and we've conceded at least 2 goals in 17 separate games this season, in all competitions, including 11 since the start of November.

They are but way too many are being missed of late. Poor defending and finishing will take its toll eventually if they don't sort it.

Trying not to overreact but we're starting to seem a little short of where we need to be.

It's been obvious for weeks that we're struggling defensively, yet the only solid link we've had with a potential signing is a striker. If Kevin Wright isn't getting game time now, when we have no other LB available, I've got to question the reason for signing him at all.

Random, loosely connected thoughts.

Must be overreacting.

Fair comments tbh. Many seem to think that MG is better in the middle of defence. Right now would seem the time to put him in there ( It seems the central defenders have largely been at fault by not doing the basics of just picking up their man in the box) so why isn't he?. Does KC disagree? or as you suggest, does he not have confidence in KW as left back?

Not like us to concede early in the second half!

Missing great chances then their lad knocks one in from the edge of the box.

Even if we end up winning this (would need to be about 8-7 the way we're going), Curle has to sort the defence out.

Substituted rather than sent off. Why not take a defender off and put a more attacking player on - we're 2 down?

I'm reminded of the first time I went down there when they first opened their new stadium and had gone four of five games without winning at the spot then we turned up and they hammered us 5-0 in typical Carlisle fashion.

Strange, just a few short weeks ago you always felt we would get back in to a game.

That feeling has gone, for me at least. Jones is obviously a big miss, but for me it's Danny G who we are missing the most.
