For me I would buy two season tickets for me and my dad for the terracing however I do not want to commit to the Warwick or the paddock as if it's pissing down my dad will not stand in the paddock. The club said I could change from paddock/Warwick but it would need to be inadvance and a 50p admin fee. They gave me the health and safety reason that everyone in the paddock might decide to go in the Warwick. Surely they could cap say 1,000 terracing tickets for anywhere in the ground and if a capacity in excess of say 12,000 is expected get those people to decide in advance.
I know 4 other people who have the same reason so that is 6 lost

Iam sure

Strange that they once allowed you to move between the Paddock and Warwick. Wasn't a health and safety issue then...why now? There is a cover on the Paddock mind, I've stood in the same spot for as long as I can remember and have never once got wet in the Paddock. I think when the club say you'd have to pay a 50p admin fee to re-print the ticket, you can still do that on the day of the game.

I think if you had a ticket for up to 10 years the cost is about £5.75 a game. It's a loyalty deal when all is said and done.
They have hit the jackpot as you say, but the fans would still have got a cracking deal without the premier status.

These schemes are great Burnley did somthing similar when they got promoted last time you bought your season ticket for the following season and if they were promoted you only paid championship prices.

The problem will come one day tho where a club who have offered a deal like this is relegated from the championship down to league 1 where gate income forms a much larger proportion of income than in the leagues above.

If it is done right, it is a cracking way of doing things.
Bradford proved it with the £100 season ticket offer, and have never looked back.
We are just in the point of getting our 25% back on ours, and numbers are well up for next year even without any offer. So, the Leeds offer has probably paid for itself with the added stimulus, and with the reconnection with the supporters and the club.
Problem is a bit of vision is needed, and that is patently lacking at Carlisle.
This offer will have cost them money over the season for very little gain, but the need for up front cash is clearly more important than anything else at the moment.

This wasn't about maximising revenue. It was more to do with proving to Curle that everything was being done to boost attendances and the available playing budget. Plus the terracing season ticket holders get a slightly better deal. Overall I think Clibbens will regard it as mission accomplished.

Mission Accomplished would be getting the missing 3 thousand back not manipulating a few figures to make it look like theyve sold more season tickets than last year.

All theyve achieved here is getting a bit of money in earlier than they normally would but if the numbers dont increase substantially between now and the start of the season not only will they have managed to sell less adult ST.s but have reduced the actual income they,ll receive christ it takes a genius to come up with a scheme thats failed as badly as this one has.

They really should stop arsing around take the plunge and try something really radical that would seriously increase the monetary take rather than pissing about massaging the numbers to make a failed scheme look like a success when all theyve really done numbers wise is sell a couple of hundred extra kids tickets at a quid a match. Curle must be tearing his hair out as he sees his budget and protocol amount reduce by the day.

The number of adult and senior tickets in the standing areas is up on last year and are the only ones to benefit from this scheme.
Overall we've already sold more season tickets than in total last year with still over 8 weeks to go before the start of next season.

Do you not think the targets were set for a reason, like a breakeven figure to offset the reduced income from the lower prices? If not, it should have been.
Like NS says, all they have done is get a few more season tickets at a lot less cost for the sake of money up front.

I decided to wait for news on signings before investing in a season ticket. We've lost Jabo so Miller is our only recognised striker, and our defence needs a complete overhaul, especially as Raynes has also gone.

Yes, it's early days but the vibes at the moment aren't brilliant so I will pay on the gate again.

Repeating Clibbins bullshit mantra spin doesnt make it anymore factual

The fact is theyve sold nearly 200 more kids tickets at a nominal sum which more than covers the overall increase in tickets which therefore means an actual decrease in income even before you take into account the clearly flawed discount system which the fans have voted against with their wallets
