Think NS has hit the nail on the head here - it is muddled thinking which does not see what the aim of making offers is (increased revenue by greater volume).
There are only 2 reasons to cut season ticket prices:- to keep those existing season ticket holders or attract new ones.
Of those who already have them, probably 75% will always renew (look at the Abbott and Kavanagh renewals), so just reduced income there.
With regard to new season ticket holders, as NS says, the majority are likely to be the match by match attenders.
Both categories are likely to result in reduced income.
Whether we like it or not, the club should be keeping the tickets at the maximum value that people will still renew at.
Clubs only make deals like this when desperate (as Leeds did), and I suspect this is more about the need for cash now, to prevent another cap in hand job to PD.

Regardless of whether it turns out to be an own goal financially, he club need to get out and advertise the offer.

Other teams that do/did these offers like Bradford/Huddersfield/hartlepool pushed cheap season tickets they made sure everyone knew about it so maximise the amount of people that will see it and but it purely on price.

No point in doing this type of offer it it simply means the 4/5k who already go are just paying less to do something they already would.

Exactly deckchair or as several have mentioned persuade people who have a seated season ticket to buy a standing one instead. I think CCU has the right idea of a flat rate of £199 and £299 as long as a certain amount are sold. I also think 26th may is too early for the period to finish. I do admire that they're trying something but with the current air of unexpectancy around the place I can't see a lot changing between now and then to make people who aren't that interested interested enough to fork £362 out for a seat.

You would hope that this terracing offer would be all over the place; newspapers, billboards, fliers, businesses, shop windows. Really promote it and the 1,000 sales figure should be comfortably achievable. Our sales and marketing department doesn't have a great track record however so don't be surprised if this is the first and last you hear of it.

Think its a great offer. Had me messaging some of my mates to get one even if they can only make so many games. They really need to shout this to the roof tops. Only gripe really is the date they have set it as the 26th. If it had to be May, should of set it for 31st to cover end of pay month. Not too bad really as the direct debit option is there which I don't feel is advertised enough. Hit target and its just over 20 quid a month over the 10 month DD.

Key to this is the marketing as previously mentioned.....live ticket counter would be good idea on social media, but only if they get plenty of renewals early. Get some reps on side as well, see if anyone wants to push tickets on their behalf, sign 10 of your mates up yours is free etc. I have said before Ive just moved to the area and paid full price this year. Still only 33 quid a month or something and I know a lot of people that waste 40 quid a month on gym memberships they don't use!!

The only advertising so far is an O/S article and it posted on Club Social Media...

Jon Colman is off (Think it was his Wedding at the weekend) and the Club don't seem to contact BBCRC with this kind of stuff.

Not even an email to existing Season Ticket Holders as of yet?

They really need to improve this kind of thing!

An old fashioned sign out on warwick road. Probrably too simple or old school for some.

That big fixtures board is going to be sitting doing nothing in 2 week. Get something across it (no idea what message to put), how many people go past their a day..

Do we still have a partnership with the Cumberland BS? Get big signs up in their windows in a prime location in the city centre.

This season about 129 season ticket holders in the Warwick and 516 in the Paddock.

Total on terraces: 645

Why are they encouraging people to go on the terraces and not in the seats? People might switch from seats to terrace reducing income.

An idea would be to have Saturday only season tickets. How many do not get a season tick because they can't go to the evening games during the week?

For those who work Saturday you could also have an evening season ticket to include Football League Trophy & League Cup matches.

This is for all season ticket holders, right? Including juniors/young persons? The '1200' target is for adults/seniors only, so you can probably knock off about 30% of those.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I couldn't see anywhere where it says the 1000 standing target must be adults season tickets. In which case whilst you're buying your season ticket just buy a kids one aswell to boost the numbers.

Towards the bottom it does mention that if 1200 adult and senior standing season tickets are sold then the price will be reviewed. I'm presuming this is something different?

Or simply sell a book of x number of vouchers all of which are valid for any game so in theory 1 person could go to all the games or x number of people could go to one game

For seating, it says if the target of 1,200 adult/senior tickets is met they will get an extra game free. In addition, the table is broken down into age categories, with only adult/seniors specified when it comes to the "Sales over 600" etc, therefore I'm assuming for that reason that the 1,000 target for terracing is also for adult/senior tickets. I may be wrong though.

The 3 game saving is just for 'Standard' purchases. If they buy within the early buy period then for terracing they're guaranteed between 6-10 game saving, or for seated between 4-5 game saving.

They do something slightly similar to this where if you can't make a game you can get an extra game for another game, up to 3 times a season.

As you can pay via direct debit, I don't understand why anyone intending on getting a season ticket wouldn't go for it during the early bird period.

Bumble mentions above the fact we should embrace our terracing and advertise the fact.

I absolutely agree and wish i was around in the 70s/80s where football was football and not money money money and fairly cheap to get in, it seemed more passionate back then.

However its now 2017 and the worlds moved on. People, kids especially, are a lot softer now and like comfort and good facilities. To advertise the fact that the ground/club is still stuck in the 1970s isn't going to tempt new people i don't think. They just want to see good football not get a history lesson.

We should advertise everywhere the new prices etc, but we could shoot ourselves in the foot mentioning the good old days if we want new supporters. Just my opinion though.

On the subject of kids tickets, makes me laugh how many Primary school age kids you see at BP, who, generally if their Dad (or Mum) were honest, aren't ready for the football. Whilst liking the idea of supporting CUFC, they spend the whole game distracted by their phone or messing about with their sibling or friend, taking no notice of the action on the pitch, whilst Dad is telling them to behave!

Dad thinks that his son enjoys going, however it really is just an excuse for Dad to go to the match, whereas son would gain so much more from doing something else with Dad on a Saturday afternoon than going to the football!

Looks like the club are going to be doing some advertising push for the season ticket offers.

After renewing his and 2 junior season tickets my dad had a phonecall from the club asking if it would he ok for Grainger to come round (he lives on Warwick road so not far to travel) next week, bring some signed stuff and have a kick about with the 2 kids, accompanied by cameras.

So looks like they are trying something, and I know the juniors, my cousin and daughter, will be absolutely made up by getting to meet one of the players.

What a great idea by the club and it's nice to see them rewarding loyal fans, however why do they always seem to be on the back foot with this stuff it would be nice to see a bit of proactivity for a change especially seeing as someone is getting paid good money for this kind of thing.

A cover letter, a badly photocopied guide to pricing, but no actual renewal form?!

Still had no direct email regarding Season Tickets - Just the usual weekly newsletter one, which had links to stories on them.

I got an email from the club re: season tickets the day they went on sale. Surely can't have been the only one.

When you posted you did, I checked my email on Laptop to double check in case my phone missed it etc, didn't see one (Checked Junk Folder too!).

Folk have mentioned previously of some getting but others not. Maybe a glitch when they mass mail?

So why go thru all that crap when you can do something positive to hasten his departure now. Dont give him your money full stop !!

The photocopy of the prices is embarrassing. I work in an office at a company much smaller than CUFC and there's no way we'd ever dream about posting something like that to existing or potential new customers.

How difficult would it be for them to copy the pricing structure into word and print it out properly so you're not reading it diagonally.

Utter f***ing amateurs.

Quite telling that the accompanying letter was just a list 'from' the ticket office. Used to get patronising drivel from Jenkins.

The 'Italic' price list is just embarassing.

I received the ST begging letter yesterday and when I seen the diagonal pricing structure I thought how tin-pot does that look. It's as if they don't give a crap about attracting new ST Holders. ''Oh they're wonky, just send them out anyway''.
