We’ve a supposed NHS crisis, lack of beds but it’s ok to play a sport and with a possibility of injury taking up one of these beds.

Not to mention the other reasons.

Lawrenson will be self-employed I would expect, that's the way the BBC work. I am sure Lawrenson has made a pile of money over the years but in these very uncertain times it's very difficult to turn work down and if the Beeb said you have to come into the studio he has a tough choice to make.

I think we can only look after ourselves really. I haven't been to a shop all week, but would have felt perfectly safe if the football had been on at Brunton Park, and hope to be working on Tuesday. It's all a balancing act, few folk can totally shut the door on life.

I'm not sure how cancelling elite football is going to help much.
You keep banging on (quite rightly) about the state of peoples mental health through this crisis but surely being able to watch live sport is providing a little bit of normality and can only help their well being.

Take Annan Athletic as an example. All players with other jobs travelling in a bus up on a Tuesday night to Aberdeen to play another part time side.

With the best will in the world they will be mixing on and off the pitch and then going on their merry way carrying on with jobs all over the place in the next day or two.

Doesn’t seem a good idea to me. Especially when cases are quite high in Dumfries and Galloway but not so much up north.

Footballers have families! They aren’t robots for our entertainment.

You need to think of their mental health as well. Even with testing they could be mixing with a steward, ball boy, St. John’s ambulances etc etc pick up the virus and pass it onto their families.

I was in A&E yesterday morning 7am and it was empty but last night 4pm, I had to pick something up, they were queues and queues of ambulances waiting to be treated as A&E was full, no beds due to social distancing and at 58% of usual staff.

Today’s the same, but football can continue causing a possible injury and using vital services. That’s selfish to me.

A footballer being injured to the point they need hospital treatment on the day doesn't happen very often at all. Maybe a couple of times a season if that.

If you are going down that road you could equally say how many folk who would normally be sitting watching the match on IFollow say sod it and go out for a walk, then slip on the ice and end up in hospital. Would that be football's fault for stopping?

I know for some people there is just that feeling, that it isn't fair, so many people are suffering financially and yet football continues. I get that but guess what, life isn't fair and I am cheered sitting watching final score.
