not many know this ^ well worth it, ive done it roped..the full ridge, you can do the easier route un roped....ahh happy days.

I'm going to have to start putting pictures on here as well, this is a great thread. Moorlass and I have been doing a fair bit of walking recently, she takes all the pictures, as anybody who knows her on facebook will have seen. This weekend we were at Ullswater and Aira Force, what a great time in lovely conditions.

More of us should be getting out there you know, almost every voice I heard was a southerner.

Love the pictures on here, keep them coming.

Did you gan on the boats on Ullswater?

We did mate, it's only a couple of hours and we had all day. Started at Glenridding and went up to Pooley Bridge and then back. Great views from there. But when you walk up to Aira force the views are absolutely spectacular. I'm a bit biased and think Ennerdale is the most beautiful lake in the Lake District, but Ullswater surely pushes it very close. It was a great day out.

I was planning to go up St Sundays Crag today so headed from Patterdale up to Grisedale Tarn. However, when I got to Ruthwaite Lodge I decided (after going in tha mine) to cut up right and along the beck and up over The Tongue to Dollywagon.
But, I went too far right and ended up going up a steep gully up (i think) High Crag. I was truly shitting myself as it got steeper and steeper but I made it somehow, literally hanging on for dear life at times. Exhilarating to say the least. Carried on to helvelyn etc as normal, views were spectacular today

On the lash tonight so we went out today

Langdale up to Crinkle Craggs over Bad Step then on to the top of Bowfell

Obviously not in the same league as some of those fantastic scenes, but yesterday the wife and I went for a wander past Ashness Bridge and up to Surprise view after having a wee jaunt around the Bowderstone. The weather wasn't amazing, the views were, it is absolutely awe inspiring looking out over Derwent Water all the way the Bassenthwaite Lake, absolutely beautiful. Yet again Moorlass took all the pictures (I never have a phone with me).

Climbed up Kirk Fell which is a grueller 700m climb in 1k add to that some bright sparks idea of taking the "corridor route " back to Wasdale and you have a pair of sore feet first pint didn't touch the sides

Back to Buttermere today to do the High Stile Range

Lovely walk and the veiws off Red Pike were excellent cloud set it for High Stile though but thats the way it is 800m + up in Cumbria

A quality walk.that..was up there a couple of months ago.. its a good climb but worth the ridge walk

The walk today took 5 1/2 hours as for Great Gable we did it from Wasdale Head Inn (free car parking just before it ).

The route we took was round the back of Wasdale pub and straight up Kirk Fell (quite damanding ) but worth it a short decent off kirk fell gets you onto a path up Gt Gable probably the best path on there and a bit of hands on scrambling near the summit we decended down path the gets you to Styhead tarn then you can either go staight back down valley to Wasdale Head or take the corridor route (nice path but another climb) which joins the Scafell Pike path down to Wasdale we took the latter approx 6 hr walk .

Its a class walk i found it ok apart from the scree path nr Red Pike summit can't believe how quiet it was

Thanks I was thinking of going up from Honister Slate Mine but your route sounds a good option. Will have to have a think tonight .

Garn from Honister is the traditional way to Great Gable, its a good route.tend to have a larl rest at Green Gable before the final climb up which can be awkward. ..

I'm hoping to get up Blencathra in a couple of weeks, after a 2 year break. Up from the Blencathra Centre. No Edges here! I was wanting to try a bit farther south, but tight arse would need to buy the next OS map south....

Nice mate did High Seat and Bleaberry Fell from Great Wood the other week .

We went the other side of Derwent Water yesterday a 14 miler start at Keswick RC

Seathwaite up to Great End ,Ill cragg ,Broad Crag ,Scafell Pike and Lingmell superb day to be out some pics from Scafell Pike a view finally !

My 3rd go (talk about 3rd time lucky) legs are ok but thats one hard but brilliant walk views were superb and to finish off by doing Lingmell and back down by the corridor route just made the day hard to compare but when the weather is with you that walk from Seathwaite is up there with the best ive done .

Longish walk the other weekend
Seathwaite onto Seathwaite Fell,Sprinkling tarn from there to Angle Tarn ,Rosset Pike then returned to Seathwaite by Allen Crags and Glaramara cracking walk and well worth the sore feet pic taken from Allen crags on way to Glaramara .

Just returned from a few days up in jockland...Finally got chance to climb Ben Nevis... murky at top though.Some doylem left a man city flag on the old observatory...

I took the cumbrian flag up though..(havent uploaded pics off big camera yet)we had the spot to ourselves just after 4pm.nobody about..fascinating summit..shame there was so much rubbish left up there.

spent a fortune, pies were crap at grun... but..went home happy with 3 points

done 11 miles today....on good old miners paths, had scran at MILL INN on way home, bit pricey...but well worth it !
